I know I need new pictures but this post is about pillows. Can someone show me a picture of how to do pillows for this couch on both sides? I asked chat to help me but chat is making it matchy matchy. I just ordered the stripe cover but I don’t think it looks good

**Help me figure out a two-tone cabinet color combo! 🏡**

I want to keep some of the **oak cabinets** because I actually like the wood look — I just don’t want the entire kitchen to be oak.

I’m thinking about either:

* Keeping/staining the oak on top and painting the lowers
* Keeping/staining the oak on the bottom and painting the uppers

I’m also undecided on whether the oak should be stained **lighter or darker**.

The countertop is quartz, I think, and it has some **blue tones** in it, so I’d love to choose a cabinet color that works with that.

And then there’s the backsplash… 😅 My husband surprised me with it about 10 years ago, and I never had the heart to tell him that I hated it because I didn’t think it matched the countertop. I finally confessed, and thankfully he’s fine with replacing or removing it — as long as we keep the cost as low as possible. 😂

What combination would you do?

Would you keep the oak on the uppers or lowers, stain it lighter or darker, and what paint color would you pair with it?

Budget-friendly backsplash ideas are welcome too!

**Moved in 9 months ago and finally ready to schedule painting… but I’m completely intimidated by choosing colors 😅**

We’re having the **entire interior painted at once**, so the thought of picking the wrong color everywhere is making me nervous.

Right now the walls are a pretty stark white, and after looking through tons of posts I’m leaning toward **SW Agreeable Gray** as the main color. It seems tried-and-true, and I think it would work well with our existing **oak cabinets and trim**.

And no, I’m not painting the cabinets — those trees grew up to be noticed. 😂🌳

What I’m wondering about now is adding a **subtle accent color**, possibly:

* Above the kitchen cabinets
* Continuing onto the wall to the right
* Maybe one wall in the living room

Has anyone used an accent color that pairs beautifully with Agreeable Gray without making the space feel too busy or dark?

I’d love to see **real-life photos or AI mockups** if you have them. Any suggestions are appreciated!

I need help. What color would you paint the walls in my living room? I want something timeless to complement the brick and the floors. Right now the paint is too gold in the light.

I finally had the color matched and brought a sample home… and somehow it looks way more **light gray** in my kitchen than the soft blue I fell in love with at the store.

I’m so disappointed because in person, those display cabinets are definitely blue — but the color barely even shows up that way in photos.

To make things more complicated, my husband says he doesn’t want blue cabinets, so now I’m starting to consider **taupe** instead.

I’ve included a photo of the store display and then the same color in my kitchen. What do you think? Is it just my lighting making it read gray?

**UPDATE:** Apparently I never really paid attention to my light bulbs… and yes, they’re definitely on the warmer side. 😂

I think I may have my husband convinced, though! I’m going to put together a whole mood board with the **backsplash, flooring, countertops, and cabinet color** so he can actually see the vision.

We’re currently finishing the basement, then ripping carpet off the stairs and re-treading them, then replacing the flooring on the main level…

Apparently I just keep adding projects. 🤣🤣

Hello all! We just moved in (clearly) and have been playing around with design ideas in our bedroom. The hubs demanded the blue accent wall but now what to do with the other walls? And we'll be replacing the "updated" 1980s baseboards with a whiter, more modern look but should the window/door trim be painted to match or left alone?
All ideas are appreciated! First time homeowners with too many ideas and too little experience 😅

I’m starting to second-guess the shower floor and could really use some reassurance from anyone who has been through this. The grout hasn’t been installed yet and the actual shower lights aren’t in, so I know the finished look could still change quite a bit. I’m just surprised by how much darker the floor seems compared with the wall tile right now.

On my sample board, the combination looked so good and felt much more balanced, so seeing it installed has me wondering if I made the wrong choice. I feel a little silly because I spent so much time picking everything out, but it’s hard to judge the final result when the space is still unfinished.

Our build is in another state, so I’m watching all of this come together from afar through pictures, which probably makes it even harder to get a true sense of the colors and lighting.

For anyone who has used a similar pebble or mosaic shower floor, did yours look noticeably lighter once the grout, proper lighting, and rest of the finishes were in place? Do you think the contrast will soften once everything is completed?

Help! We have this awkward little room in our house, and I’m completely stuck on what to do with it. It sits between the front entrance and the kitchen, so it naturally gets a lot of traffic and mostly functions as a pass-through space.

Right now, we’re basically using it as extra storage for coats and miscellaneous things, but I feel like there has to be a better way to make the room both useful and inviting. I don’t want to overcrowd it or make the walkway to the kitchen feel cramped, but it seems like wasted space in its current setup.

Would you turn this into more of a proper entryway, a small sitting area, organized coat/shoe storage, or something completely different? I’d love to hear what you would do with this space, especially ideas that keep it functional while still looking intentional and put together. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
