This handpainted, exquisitely
detailed version of Pauline de Rothschild’s antique Chinese wallpaper is our “Pauline” design – now available to custom order for any room.

We have added this as a addition to our framed panel designs - look forward to a new shipment, arriving in fall.

The color variation and patina is intentional, to look like a restored 18th century wallpaper, but if you prefer things, fresh, we will be happy to create whatever you envision for your custom order

Using traditional Chinese two brush painting technique, our amazingly talented artist Taki customized this Winter Garden panel for Mark Sikes, applying a gold wash over the handmade Pewter Leaf background, and adding a soft, translucent blue wash to the elegant white, gray and black design.

Sunday at my home.

This is a custom version of Kano Garden, and a chair we recovered with our Greenfield linen

I always notice something new in this design, which was inspired by an 18th century Japanese screen. Japanese screens are one of my favorite types of art, and they provide endless inspiration for new wallpaper designs.

The way sunlight plays off the gilded clouds at different times of day is magical

I’m only leaving this post here for one day, until this pair of vintage Gracie screens are offered for all the world to see on 1stdibs - if you’re interested in one or both, let us know now before someone else grabs them.

These date to the 1980s, and they are design we still make (because no design at Gracie is ever discontinued even though each room is one of a kind) called Silver Peony, and these two screens have particularly charming details, with cranes, lilies, parrots, gorgeous big peony blossoms, and a little rabbit on one of them.

They are in wonderful vintage condition. Yes, they show a little bit of wear and patina, but don’t we all?
