We are fashionably honored to be consulted by Vogue about the latest tech for the home including our quote confirming that our clients just want to flip a switch and everything they wish, granted by us!

We spoke to Kelsey Mulvey about analog and today’s interior design - from the ease of a single light switch to the warmth of a handmade carpet.

This Georgian chair is from a retro tech savvy living room at the Carlyle. Purple silk upholstery by Gainsborough.

Comfort is our goal for every room - even a formal living room in this 1928 house we decorated in Greenwich, Connecticut. Various types of inviting furniture fill the room, all visually unified by our addition of the oval molding on the ceiling. The mirror also adds much to the life of the room. This interior is a perfect example of elegance that is not formidable.

The handsome hall and living room of a 1928 house in Greenwich. Craig Intinarelli created this new double height space covered with handprinted wallcovering by Lucretia Moroni, Thomas Engelhart made the blue mirror. The dynamic weather vane is early American and a Georgian cockpen chair. We like this careful blending of old and new.

A favorite room we decorated in Greenwich - the principal bedroom - where, with the genius of Craig Intinarelli - we vaulted the ceiling into an arch. GRACIE supplied the bespoke hand-painted Bluefield wallpaper. One subtle addition is the hand printed border on the bedskirt by Lucretia Moroni.

Another room from the 1999 showhouse we decorated for town and Country. Is it timeless? At least the Keith Haring chair is.

We are gratified that the inaugural issue of Homes & Gardens Anthology has featured a house that we decorated in Greenwich. It is always special to see a project in print - and especially so alongside work by long standing colleagues including Bunny Williams and Gil Schafer III, as well as an essay by SOANE BRITAIN’s Lulu Lytle.

Exploring Anglo-American taste for all its beauty and comfort, the issue feels particularly fitting for this home, where English fabrics and antiques and European references meet a distinctly American sense of scale and ease.

William Cullum was the project decorator and Kroeger Intinarelli Architects the architect.

Our thanks to Sarah Spiteri, David Nicholls and Lucy Searle, as well as to Mieke ten Have who styled this home and wrote the piece, and William Abranowicz for the photography.

From 1999: a bedroom we designed with Lucretia Moronim artist for the Town and Country showhouse in 1999.

The walls are painted silk. A classic is a classic because of a certain… freshness..

We worked with John Tackett (John J. Tackett) to create the painted-steel grillwork for the windows and doors of our Houston project, taking inspiration from the historic details of the Whistler’s Peacock Room at the Freer Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. The pattern of these grilles makes an intermediary layer between house and garden - filtering light and views with engaging detail.

Delighted to see our design featured in Mansion Global’s story about the enduring appeal of outdoor decorative screens.

Nostalgic memories of a project from the last century - and what, if anything, Thomas Jayne would do differently today.
