I love merging my design background and pastry expertise to create and share dessert recipes that look as good as they taste. I'm a Pennsylvania native and longtime resident of New York City, where I've spent the past twelve years working professionally as a costume designer and wardrobe stylist for television and theatre. I've always loved to bake, and over the years the kitchen has become my str
ess relief and refuge from the chaos of the entertainment industry and life in NYC. I often find myself coming home after a long day on set to whip up a batch of cookies, or chocolates, or homemade pretzels, earning myself a reputation as “the crew member who brings in the baked goods.”
In 2017 I made the decision to more seriously pursue my passion, through a combination of travel, professional training, food photography courses, and of course, a lot of eating and kitchen experimentation along the way. And yes, I chose the name “Baste Cut Fold” for this blog because each word doubles as both a sewing term and a cooking term, reflecting my two worlds–costumes and confections! Visit my website:
