Get ready for a flavor explosion with these Ground Turkey Rice Bowls drizzled with a tangy and spicy Bang Bang Sauce! Perfect for meal prep or a cozy dinner. 🍚🌱✨
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil (or your favorite cooking oil)
- 2-3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 2 tsp grated ginger
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 3 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1-2 Tbsp sriracha
- 2-3 Tbsp chicken broth
- 2 tsp honey
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp sea salt (more or less to taste)
- 2 tsp corn starch
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 3 Tbsp sweet chili sauce
- ½-1 Tbsp sriracha (add more for an extra kick)
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- 2 tsp honey
- Rice (cooked, of your choice)
- Shredded carrots
- Sliced cucumbers
- Shelled edamame
- Pickled onions
- Avocado
- Shredded cabbage
- Sliced green onion
- Sesame seeds and more!
Directions:
1. Start by making the Bang Bang Sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together all the sauce ingredients until smooth. Want more heat? Add a splash more sriracha; need it sweeter? Just drizzle in some extra honey or sweet chili sauce. Chill it until you're ready to use it.
2. Now, let’s prepare the ground turkey! In a large skillet over medium-high heat, drizzle some sesame oil. Once it’s shimmering, add the ground turkey, breaking it into smaller pieces as it cooks. Cook until the turkey is nicely browned and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Then, reduce the heat to medium-low and stir in all the remaining ingredients, leaving out the cornstarch for now.
3. Let everything simmer together for about 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally. To make the mixture nice and thick, sprinkle the cornstarch over the top and stir until it’s well combined. If you like, stir in about 2 tablespoons of the Bang Bang Sauce into the turkey mixture just before serving (this step is optional but oh-so-delicious!).
4. Time to assemble your rice bowls! There are no rules here—add rice, pile on the veggies, and spoon over that scrumptious ground turkey mixture. Finish with a generous drizzle of Bang Bang Sauce and sprinkle with sliced green onion and sesame seeds for that perfect touch.
