The 2027 Colors of the Year are beginning to arrive—and the direction is clear: interiors are becoming warmer, earthier, and more expressive.

This year’s selections range from fresh herbal greens and rich olive tones to smoky blues, grounded browns, and muted rose:

• Behr: Grounded
• Sherwin-Williams: Celery
• Pittsburgh Paints + Glidden: Artifact
• Dutch Boy: Deep Rooted
• Graham & Brown: Rose Earth
• Valspar: Cottage Door
• Dulux: Soulful Sage

Wallpaper:
• Graham & Brown Wallpaper: Roselle Grove
• Graham & Brown Mural: Red Rose Country

My early favorite for versatility is Behr’s Grounded, while Sherwin-Williams’ Celery feels fresh and unexpected. And if you love pattern, Graham & Brown’s Roselle Grove wallpaper may be the true standout.

Same kitchen. Very different feeling.

Lighting is one of those design details you may not fully appreciate until you see what happens when it’s turned off.

In this kitchen, we didn’t rely on a few ceiling fixtures to do all the work. We layered lighting throughout the space—under the cabinetry, inside the glass-front cabinets, along the toe kicks, and with decorative pendants over the island.

Each layer has a purpose. Some makes the kitchen easier to work in. Some highlights the cabinetry and finishes. And some is simply there to create warmth and atmosphere.

The best part? You don’t necessarily notice all of the individual light sources.

You just notice that the room feels better.

This is exactly why we think about lighting early. Whether we’re renovating or designing a new build. The prettiest fixtures in the world can’t make up for a lighting plan that wasn’t considered from the beginning.

Good lighting isn’t just about seeing the room. It’s about how you experience it.

Don’t close up the patio just yet.

Some of the best evenings outdoors happen at the very end of summer. The air is a little cooler, the string lights come on earlier, and gathering around the fire feels especially inviting.

You may recognize this outdoor retreat from its feature in Better Homes & Gardens. It remains one of our favorite examples of how thoughtful lighting, comfortable seating and distinct areas for dining and gathering can extend the enjoyment of a backyard well beyond summer. We’re holding onto these last few weekends of dining al fresco for as long as we can.

A few more dinners. A few more fires. A few more evenings under the lights.

You don’t always need a renovation—or a room full of new furniture—to completely transform a space.

This little eat-in area off the kitchen was perfectly fine before. In fact, the table and chairs were already great. What it was missing was personality.

We kept the furniture and gave the room an entirely new point of view with a dramatic botanical wallpaper, sculptural lighting, a statement mirror, greenery and a few carefully chosen accessories. Suddenly, a space that once felt a little overlooked became one of the most interesting moments in the home.

It’s one of my favorite kinds of transformations because it shows just how much lighting, wallpaper and the right finishing layers can change the way a room feels—without changing everything that’s already working.

Sometimes the best design decision isn’t starting over. It’s knowing what to keep and what to layer in.

Building a custom home? Your interior designer should be one of the first people you call—not one of the last.

One of the biggest misconceptions about interior design is that we come in toward the end of a project to select paint colors, furniture and finishes.

For a new build, our work starts much earlier.

We look at your home as a whole—how the floor plan functions, where furniture will live, how that impacts lighting and electrical, how cabinetry should work for the way your family lives, and how all of those decisions connect to the materials and finishes you'll eventually see.

Because in a new build, every decision affects another decision.

Our job is to help you see those connections before they become expensive changes in the field—and to make sure the hundreds of decisions you're making ultimately result in a home that feels cohesive, personal and beautifully considered.

And yes, we’ll make it beautiful, too. 🤍

Planning a new build in the Pittsburgh area? The best time to start the conversation is earlier than you think.

Every project starts with a story—and this custom office materials flatlay is all about creating a space that feels refined, collected, and quietly inspired by the sea.

From custom cabinetry and a built-in coffee nook to tailored upholstery and layered textures, every material has been selected to work together beautifully. Soft blues and greens, warm wood tones, woven textures, and a mix of subtle patterns bring just enough of that beach vacation feeling—without ever feeling literal.

It's proof that the best interiors don't shout a theme. They capture a feeling.

We can't wait to bring this one to life. ✨

If you're planning a renovation or building a new home, chances are you've spent time dreaming about paint colors and stunning countertops. But some of the most important decisions happen long before the finishes are selected.

In our latest blog post, we're sharing five of the most common renovation & new build mistakes homeowners make—many of which are difficult (and expensive) to correct once construction is complete.

From forgetting floor outlets to overlooking future window treatment wiring and furniture layouts, these are the details that can have a lasting impact on how your home functions every day.

The good news? With thoughtful planning and the right team in place, these costly oversights are entirely avoidable.

Before summer gets into full swing, take a look at your home's drop zones.

The spaces that greet you when you walk through the door have a bigger impact than you might think. Thoughtful storage, layered textures, and a few beautiful organizational pieces can transform everyday routines into something that feels effortless.

When everything has a place, your home feels lighter, calmer, and easier to enjoy. But remember, beautiful organization isn't about perfection—it's about creating effortless systems that support the way you actually live. ☀️🤍

La dolce vita, brought home. 🍋💙 🇮🇹

While we were creating the concept for this outdoor space, our clients were telling us about their recent trip to Italy - one of their favorite experiences ever. They had brought back a custom painted table that incorporated bold yellows and cobalt blues, and we used that as our jumping off point for their backyard (because who doesn't need a little italian riviera energy in their home?)

We designed this space to feel relaxed, vibrant, and full of charm. From the scalloped striped umbrellas to the vibrant lemon pillows and custom loungers - finished with the sweetest yellow welt detail - every piece was chosen to feel playful, polished, and reminiscent of their travels overseas.

The result is a backyard that feels like an escape — layered with personality, meaningful details, and just the right amount of summer nostalgia.

Design is always at its best when it tells a personal story. 💚
