Ok ok.. My self preservation instincts have officially kicked in after that response!! 🙈🤣👏
Some people thought I was lying.
Some people thought it was rage bait.
But no I am not joking...
our rug has been diagonal for years! 🤣
I seriously never even thought it was possible to have it straight because of the brick hearth.
That age old interior design "rule" of having all of the furniture touch the area rug overweighed everything else for me.
With the rug pushed straight and further underneath the couch, the gray chair doesn't necessarily work.
So for years the gray armchair in the living room, was tilted to match the diagonal angle of the area rug... towards the tv and towards the fireplace as a way to kind of include the fireplace in the furniture arrangement. 🤷♀️🤷♀️
I feel like once the gray chair is there, the diagonal rug totally makes more sense and feels more intentional. 🙋♀️
But after getting this overwhelming response, calling the diagonal rug unhinged and diabolical, I guess I've been overruled. 🙅♀️
Honestly, I'm totally fine with it and could go either way. The rest of my family, however, has been wanting the rug straight for a while, so we gave it a try. 🙃
This living room layout has always kind of bugged me and it's just really hard to work with to include fireplace. I think ChatGPT came up with a great solution, but now we just need all new furniture (!!) Maybe someday. 🛋
So what do you think? Does it still make you twitch looking at the diagonal rug with that gray armchair in place? Or does it look slightly better?🤔🤔
Do you think we should get rid of this sectional (it's destroyed anyway haha)... And try a traditional couch with some armchairs like that last slide shows?
