Hot Take: A couple’s floral palette and vision should carry through the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception—but that doesn’t mean every arrangement needs to be moved between spaces.

A cohesive floral story creates continuity. Planning each piece for its intended location can also help keep the transition smooth:

Moving arrangements during cocktail hour can add extra steps to an already busy timeline.

Bridesmaids’ bouquets may make lovely guestbook-table accents, but can be too tall for centerpieces.

Arch flowers are designed to face forward; on a table, their focal blooms may point up instead of toward guests.

There are thoughtful ways to re-feature florals, too—like using aisle markers as centerpieces or placing aisle meadows in front of the sweetheart table.
