Confession: I took a little summer vacation from IIDA Book of the Month. 😂

Between work travel, summer plans, and life in general, May–August got away from me. Of the four books I had lined up, I finished exactly ONE.

Well… technically, I listened to it. 😂

And honestly? Crucial Conversations may have been the one book I needed most.

Because as designers, we navigate different opinions, competing priorities, budgets, expectations, and plenty of conversations where “Can I be honest with you?” is NEVER a great sign.

My biggest takeaway? Difficult conversations aren't something to avoid, they're a skill we can get better at.

So, I'm owning my summer reading hiatus. My Audible library is still full of good intentions, and I'm officially back at it!

Sometimes it's not about how many books we finish… it's about what we actually take away from the one we do.
