Timeless Craftsman Style - peek inside two of my client's projects to see how we improved their already-beautiful Craftsman homes!

The first project focuses on the dining room, and the second project on the living room.

Both have gorgeous Craftsman windows and architecture. The difference is the color palette and style approach!

Thanks to David Duncan Livingston and Marjia Vidal for brilliant photos of my designs. See more in this week's blog:

How (and WHY!) to visit a design center's fabric and furniture showrooms with an interior designer:

There are multiple reasons, not the least of which is that you won't be able to understand pricing, if the design center you're visiting welcomes both the general public and design professionals. This is the case for the San Francisco Design Center, and many others.

The reason is because design centers intentionally obscure pricing to protect the designer's markup. You may see something that looks like this: 110/46. You need your designer to translate that price into dollars. And not every showroom does their price labeling the same way! So it's even more important to have a professional with you.

Some designers will ask a flat rate or an hourly rate to shop for you. Some will accept a percentage fee of the total cost and pass any savings on to you.

There are multiple ways for interior designers to approach pricing for their clients, so it's important to know what YOUR designer offers, and how to work with them.

This week we're looking at lush, green walls for your home and office.

Here in my client's city condo, we created a corner filled with bright and colorful plants by hanging them directly on the wall!

In my blog, we show photos and discuss green walls in offices, restaurants, and used as room dividers in large open spaces.

Design YOUR home for life!

Have you heard of aging-in-place design? This is the idea that we should be able to stay in our homes throughout the changes in our lives such as aging or health conditions.

By thoughtfully designing your spaces to accommodate these changes and needs, you can stay in your home as long as possible.

For example, this sink has a pulldown faucet, helpful for those with arthritis, and the kitchen counter has a space for a walker or wheelchair underneath the peninsula.

BEFORE & AFTER 5-star review!

My San Francisco clients are so pleased with their kitchen renovation that they left me a glowing 5-star review on Google. I share that and several before-and-after views of the space to show the transformation in this week's blog:

Want to live or vacation at Lake Tahoe? I'd love to help you design your space!

This project isn't mine, but it's beautiful, don't you think? Modern kitchen and a spa-like bathroom, vaulted ceilings with exposed beams throughout, and stunning views to the water are just a few of the features, with tasteful colors and textures that invite you to stay a while.

Thanks to Leeder Real Estate for the images. Visit them for more available Tahoe properties.

Luxury bathroom remodel BEFORE and AFTER!

The change is astonishing, from a dark, outdated motel-style space to a peaceful, light and airy retreat.

Calacutta marble shower niche with Celeste tiles, plus a custom stained glass window to let in more light.

Now it's a spa-like atmosphere in their home. YOU could have this result also, if you work with me.

Thanks to photographer David Duncan Livingston for the beautiful shots of my work!
