Designs By Siri/My Name Is Siri https://youtu.be/0hz2wtLhLEo At first glance, one would not know that Siri has a disability. She is a well-dressed young woman with a mild disposition.

When you start talking to her, you would realize that her speech is very limited, she becomes very anxious and repeats what you say. Siri, as she is fondly called by her family and friends, was diagnosed with autism when she was three. She went through special education classes and the school system, eventually graduating from Wings Learning Center at the age of 22. There have been several ups and

downs during her school life, especially during middle school. Although Siri is intelligent and can read and write at a 3rd grade level, her limited communication skills created frustration and angry outbursts. Physically, Siri is fit and has excellent fine motor skills. She likes to be productive and helpful. She has a lot of patience in completing a task. Her mother knew that Siri was good at arranging and matching things, as she incidentally discovered her talent of making jewelry. Siri quickly mastered many of the fine skills needed to make jewelry. Her work ethic and a desire to impress people, have helped Siri hone her skills. She loves to work (although not every day) and can sit for hours, engaged in it. Jewelry making has had a therapeutic and a calming effect on her and boosted her self-confidence. She is very proud of her work and thrives in the accolades she receives at various events, where she gets to display and sell her jewelry. Siri's family hopes to help develop her skills and expand her work, so that many others with disabilities could be employed by her enterprise. She continues to inspire others with and without disabilities to become productive members of the society. She lives with her parents and 2 brothers in San Francisco Bay Area. Yesterday after a long day from 10:30 to 5:30pm at school, we came home and I asked Siri to go in and put away her stuff and relax. I went out to wash my car as the windshield is dirty and it’s affecting my driving. Usually after a long day she is done and doesn’t come out of her room until we go and check on her.

Yesterday was different, she didn’t like that I was in the cold and working with water, while I am still healing from my knee surgery. My heart was full when she wanted to help me.

Lack of spontaneity is one of the main challenges Siri deals with in many ways. Finally I have a daughter who asks if I ate, tells me to rest and now I see she coming to help me spontaneously. What else can I ask for ? 🤗😘

My question of “does she love me?” is answered in so many ways every single day.

Siri for the first time ever spoke (letter board) at the church. She did an amazing job with Andy Chettipally, there were no dry eyes in the congregation. An individual, who never spoke a single word had spoken in such a way that they never knew she could.

Ever since this event happened, we notice many more at the church acknowledge and greet Siri and try conversing with her.

Once in a blue moon I get to experience such an amazing day. All three kids (they will be kids for me even after they become grandparents 😂😂😂) are resting after a hectic day. Their dad is busy with work even on vacation.

Finally, I am editing Siri’s videos which have been on my mind for a long time now 🤔.

Mom gets to relax!!!
