One of the great and too rare joys of turning bowls and vases from recycled and up-cycled wood is to see something being used to create beauty in someone's home.

Yesterday I had a chance to visit with the Kusch's in Pottsboro, TX. They graciously swapped me some outstanding Cedar and Bois d'Arc wood for this Spalted Pecan bud vase and a live edge Cedar bowl. I left feeling pretty good about the whole process, and today they shared this picture about how they are using the bud vase for one of their gorgeous Iris flowers. Tell me that doesn't feel great!🥰
