Bamboo Creations Maui Grown and made on Maui custom bamboo and wood lamps. Tall floor lamps uniquely exhibit how bamboo grows with the changing angles between nodes.

“Bamboo Creations Maui” originated from an experimentation with light and sculpture to enhance the natural beauty of different types of wood. Lamp design and construction became the medium after years of growing, harvesting and curing bamboo here in Waihe’e valley. Logs from trees cut by land owners have been collected around the island of Maui to be used with our bamboo to create our unique custo

m wood and bamboo lamps. The first prototype lamp designs began in 2019 and evolved each year with emphasis on high quality fit and finish. Our lamps are shaped from logs exposing the growth rings that radiate out from the bamboo post revealing the tree annual maturation. We have five species of bamboo growing on property including black “Atro” timber bamboo and blonde colored “Sacred Bali” bamboo which are the two we use for our lamps. Wood varieties include Java Plum, Norfolk Pine, Monkey Pod, Waiwi, Mango, Koa, Christmas Berry, Eucalyptus Robusta, Pride of India, Silver Oak and Macadamia Nut. All lamps are finished with up to twenty coats of Satin Lacquer and polished to a mirror finish. Bamboo Creations Maui began and continues to be an enjoyable retirement hobby of a third generation woodworker using locally grown wood to create “island style” functional art people can enjoy and add beauty to their homes.
