Have you ever noticed that the first thing people do in a beautifully designed room is ignore the “look, don’t touch” rule?
They run a hand along the edge of a solid wood table. They feel the cool texture of a limestone counter. They reach for a linen curtain just to see how it feels.
That instinctive response tells us something important. We experience a room through more than what we see. The materials around us can create a sense of comfort, connection, and grounding before we have even taken in every detail.
At RBI, we think carefully about how each material will feel and how it will support the people living in the space.
In our latest blog, I’m exploring material literacy and how thoughtful material choices can contribute to our well-being at home.
