We keep waiting to have people over until the house is ready.

Until it is cleaner. Until it is bigger. Until all the stuff finally has a place.

But think about it.

We buy houses for more space and then we fill that space with stuff. And then we tell ourselves we cannot have people over because the house is not ready.

Doesn’t it just sound absurd?!?!

The space was never for the stuff. It was for the PEOPLE.

What’s keeping you from hosting more?

That woman’s story stayed with me all the way home.

She did all that work, with so much love behind it only to feel heartbroken over what felt like wasted effort and time.

My life is infinitely better because of the amazing women in my life.

To my girls, thank you for being my village.

We spent the day at SoJo Spa Club one of my favorite places to relax with my girls. When we get together, there is no agenda, no fixing anything.

Just laughing, talking, and being ourselves for a few hours. And it fills my cup right to the top EVERY SINGLE time!

My good friend did our birth chart once and said we’ve been circling each other for lifetimes, and this is the one where we finally ended up together.

How can I not believe in love?

Think about everything that had to line up.

Two kids on opposite sides of the world arriving in America on the SAME DAY.

Then we went to the same college at the same time and never crossed paths once.

We didn’t meet until we were supposed to.

I truly believe some things are just meant to be. Twenty years after that first date, he’s still my best friend and my favorite person in the world, and I don’t take a single day of it for granted.

We really thought this was just how it was going to be.

Since his very first appointment every single visit was the worst possible experience, and we just accepted that he hates the dentist. It never even occurred to me that the office could be the problem and not him.

The part I love just as much is the mental load.

Instead of keeping track of one appointment for the boys and a separate one for me, we all go together and get seen one after the other.

One visit, everybody’s done, and nobody’s chasing down another date on the calendar.

Did your kids go to a pediatric dentist or a family practice? I’m curious how many of you made the switch.

I love organizing! And super proud of all the amazing clients we got to help and be part of their stories.

But after hundreds of homes, I couldn’t shake the feeling that my industry was part of the problem.

The systems worked. They lasted. But we were still buying more bins for people who already had too much.

If these hit a little too close, here’s where I’d start.

Put the phone down and set a timer for 20 minutes.

Pick ONE drawer and get rid of what you don’t use before you buy a single organizing bin.

Give your kids one job around the house this week.

And the next time someone asks for something you don’t have room for, in your house or on your calendar, practice saying no.

I’m not organizing homes anymore, but I’m not done talking about this.

Less stuff, more living.
