Lately, life has reminded me of something very important: we may not have control over how others treat us, but we do have control over where we choose to stay.

Not every environment is meant for us. Sometimes, jealousy speaks louder than encouragement, criticism replaces teamwork, and people become more focused on bringing others down than lifting each other up.

But knowing who we are, what we stand for, and the value we bring changes everything. We don't have to fight for a place where our efforts aren't appreciated, and we certainly don't have to compromise our character just to belong.

There is wisdom in knowing when to walk away, strength in choosing peace, and courage in starting somewhere new.

Moving on isn't always about giving up. Sometimes, it's about respecting yourself enough to recognize that you deserve an environment where you can grow, contribute, and be valued.

Go where you are celebrated, not just tolerated.

Four years ago, I became a proud U.S. citizen, but my story started long before that, in a country I will always carry in my heart: Venezuela.

Coming from Venezuela, I know that freedom, democracy, and the right to have a voice should never be taken for granted. I know what it means to leave your home country behind, start over, and build a new life filled with hope, sacrifices, and dreams.

Becoming an American citizen was more than a milestone. It was a reminder of how far I've come and how many doors God has opened along the way.

Today, I don't just celebrate four years of citizenship. I celebrate the privilege of voting, of having a voice, and of being part of the future of this nation.

I vote because I know what democracy means. I vote because my children's future matters. I vote because I believe we all have a responsibility to make this country better.

I will always be Venezuelan by birth and proudly American by choice..

May we never take for granted the freedoms that others are still praying for.
