Dinner table by day, game night by... also day, honestly, whenever you want it. This one started as a question we get more than you’d think: “could it do both?” So this maple table — mid-century base, leaves in for a full dining spread — opens up into a real gaming table underneath. Cup holders. Professional-grade felt. All hidden until you need it.

This is the part of custom furniture people don’t always think about: it’s not just picking a wood species and a shape, it’s building a piece around how you actually use the room. Built here in North Carolina, one table at a time.

Want a comfortable chair but afraid of stained fabric? We have a large selection of performance fabrics to use with our chairs. They are washable, abrasion resistant and designed to last for years. You can also choose from our collection of genuine top grain leather for a premium look and feel.

There's a moment right after a piece is finished where the shop goes quiet for a moment before it ships out. This one's ready for it's new home — 7 1/2 foot table in solid White Oak, built here in Wilmington for a family that wanted something that would last generations.

The Michigan farm collection we just shared isn’t the only time a piece of wood has arrived with a personal history.

When another of our clients was nine years old, he planted an oak tree from a seed. It grew as he did. Years later, Hurricane Florence brought it down. He had the wood milled so he could keep a part of that tree in his life.

We designed this live-edge oak dining table around the wood, pairing its natural edge with our sculptural Apex base. The tree he planted as a child is now a table he can gather around as an adult.

After building the furniture, we still had pieces of the family’s wood left over. We used some of those offcuts to make these cutting boards.

They may be smaller than the dining table, mantel, console, and shelves, but they carry the same story of a Michigan farm that meant so much to this family.

It has been a privilege to help give that wood a place in their everyday lives.

The family’s cherry became more than a dining table. We also used wood they brought us from their Michigan farm to build this console table.

The two pieces have different jobs in the home, but they share a history. That’s one of our favorite things about working with family-supplied wood: the story stays with the material, wherever the finished piece goes.

This walnut came from the same Michigan farm as the cherry dining table we shared earlier. We built it into a floating mantel for the family.

It’s a simple piece with a meaningful origin: wood they saved from a place that held years of holidays and family memories, now part of the room where they gather today.

One generation grew up on a family farm in Michigan. The next came back for holidays and made memories of their own.

When the farm was sold, the family brought us wood harvested there over the years. They asked us to turn it into pieces they could use in their home, starting with this custom cherry dining table.

Now the place where they gather carries a piece of the place where they gathered before.

This is the first in a series sharing what we built from their family’s wood.
