Sara Bengur Interiors & Shop Custom Interiors & Authentic Home Furnishings Interior designer Sara Bengur introduces a cultivated collection inspired by her international travels.

A childhood spent in Turkey, a lifetime of international exploration, a roster of interior design clients that takes her around the world. All these experiences influenced designer Sara Bengur’s sophisticated new namesake collection of globally inspired home furnishings. A sun-kissed tonal palette that is both bright and earthily warm and a clean-lined design aesthetic unite the sharply focused collection of tableware, textiles, rugs and more. Taking inspiration from old Turkish motifs and contemporary artists, the array of sophisticated yet playful designs reinvents exoticism in a lyrical way that makes the items suitable for both contemporary and traditional settings. The mix of serenely organic and geometric shapes playfully nods to favorite artist Sonia Delaunay and Francesco Clemente, while the stencil design of one of the fabrics was inspired by an ancient Ottoman coin.

Setting the stage… ✨ This September, I had the honor of designing the stage for Sri Sri Ravi Shankar at St. John the Divine 🙏 What a wonderful and magical evening to witness and contribute a small part to 🥰 It was a profound experience to be guided by a true ambassador of peace and love, and such a beautiful way to connect with the greater New York City community 🗽Thank you The Art of Living NYC for making this evening possible, and to the inimitable and endlessly inspiring Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar 🙏

On air 🔉…
This month, Sonya Bekkerman and I joined Ivana Tagliamonte of Bellport Inn for an episode of Forum 500’s podcast, Forum Radio 🎙️ Each week, Forum founders Jessica Fellowes and Simon Jacot de Boinod invite members to share their work and connect with the wider Forum community📍After Sonya and I performed Vastu and Puja at the Inn, the three of us sat down to talk about the experience and the ways these practices can transform the feeling of a space 🏹 It was so rewarding to hear Ivana describe how, afterwards, the property felt “like a hug” and ever since the inn has been thriving 🤗 There’s a reason these practices have been around for centuries and why we sometimes describe Vastu Puja as acupuncture for the home 🌀Listen to the full episode now at the link in bio 📻

A moment for blue 💙
La Casa Azul was Frida Kahlo’s childhood home 🏡 Located in Mexico City, it was where she grew up and later lived with her husband, artist Diego Rivera 🌵
Every corner feels like an extension of her surreal and whimsical work, from her collection of Mexican folk art to the furniture, colors, and objects that fill the house 🎨 As a lover of color and eccentric, deeply personal interiors, I especially admire the fearlessness and composition of it all 💫

Pattern play 🧚‍♀️ Layer by layer, our Baltimore project is coming to life 💙 Jubilant patterns dance across wallpaper as fixtures and pillows find their places 🎯and covered lampshades, drapes, and other finishing touches await installation 🏹 From bold textiles to the smallest details, we wanted each element to add depth, warmth, and a worldly sense of character 🗺️ The house is still very much in progress, but we have a feeling it will all come together as we intended quite soon 🤗

OOO dispatch from one of our senior designers Brittany Keefe Arora 🌾 Brittany spent last week in Madrid, Spain and we feel fortunate for her pics so at the very least we can live vicariously through them and marvel at all the antiques and artisan shops with enviable ceramics, raffia baskets, textiles and like🕊️ For me there’s really nothing like travel to expand the mind and train the eye 👁️…it is seeing other places and their unique artistic sensibilities that undoubtedly inflects my practice as an interior designer and I’m sure Brittany’s too ❤️

Sneak peak 🫣 details from one of our most recent projects still very much under wraps 🎁 Where texture, pattern, and color play off of each other, warm hues are punctuated by cooler notes of blue and green, and ceramic fixtures became a favorite 🌱

The extraordinary Weimar-era home of Expressionist artist and architect Wenzel Hablik in Itzehoe, Germany… can you believe this was completed in 1923? 🤯
A true visionary, eccentric, and fearless colorist, Hablik—together with his wife, textile designer Elisabeth Hablik-Lindemann—transformed their home into a kaleidoscopic work of art, leaving almost nothing untouched 🎨 Every surface is an explosion of pattern, color, and experimentation 🍥
It’s endlessly inspiring to see someone so unapologetic in their approach to color and design…just as I strive to be 🤓

One of my favorite places to visit every time I go to the South of France is La Boutique de Jeanne 👌 Located in St Remy, Jeanne creates a world completely her own 🗺️ In her shop she carries objects, textiles, home wares, and garments that she designs in-house along with pieces created by local Provençal artisans and from travels across the globe 🌐With a taste and sensibility that’s refined but never restrained Jeanne’s shop is one that I find enigmatic and enchanting ✨…and Jeanne herself, a kindred spirit 💙 Jeanne Bayol
