Meet the Artists: threads that bind us

South African sisters Emma and Leila Rowett are the creative duo behind threads that bind us, a collection of handmade home décor inspired by the natural beauty of the Cape.

Their designs are a drawing with thread using free-motion embroidery. Because each piece is created freehand, no two are exactly alike.

Their work features protea, fynbos, landscapes and the occasional figure across a range of timeless soft furnishings. They also create bespoke embroidered pieces, proving that if they can draw it, they can stitch it.
