Perfect view. Plain seats. Then we add some colour. Same terrace, same view, with a handwoven rug and three cushions from Peru.

This llama and this bird are leaving home today. 🦙 Every little tassel is made from the offcuts of vintage Peruvian blankets, so no two are the same, and the colours are a surprise. Hang one on your bag or a door handle, or on the Christmas tree. Or give it as a little gift. I tag it, wrap it, add a thank-you card and send it off to find its person.

We have all bought something that looked wonderful and was tired within a season.

A junco bag is the opposite. It is made to stay with you for many years, and it asks for very little. Most of what goes wrong is too much fuss: too much scrubbing, too little drying, too much time shut in a damp cupboard.

My bedroom is calm on purpose. Linen, blush, a lot of white.
Then two cushions with a red stripe, because a calm room still needs one thing you look at twice.
Every cover is cut from a handwoven Andean frazada, so no two are the same.

A week off on a friend’s farm. My head didn’t get the memo.
