Materials Selection.
Otherwise known as as the sexy or magic part of the interior design process.

Overall we spend the least amount of time in this phase compared to intensive planning and technical documentation phases, but it doesn’t mean it is less important.

How do we choose materials and finishes?
1) What is the Story we are Telling ( how should a space feel; lighting, ambience, colour, texture),
2) Who are the Main Characters (who will use the space),
3) How Should Materials Perform (how is the space going to be used, heavy use, light use, pets)
4) What Technical Codes need Consisering (fire resistance ratings, slip resistance, anti static finishes)

The magic exists in pulling all these threads together to weave a cohesive narrative that effortlessly supports the interior architecture and is also fit for purpose.
