Did you know that the word of the year for 2026 is ‘Whimsy’?

✨ playful, quaint, or fanciful behavior, objects, or ideas, often characterized by a lighthearted, quaint, or charmingly odd nature ✨

What I think this means for design in 2026 is lots of ruffles, scalloped edges, colour, curved furniture, sparkle. I’m not huge into decor trends, but I think we all need a bit of this in 2026!

Things to keep in mind for longevity- colour palette, refined materials, found vintage and antique pieces mixed with new, mass-produced items. Think curated, not cluttered!

My husband and I saw this old Sears Wish Book at and thought it was the absolute perfect thing to have out for people to flip through at Christmas 🎄

It’s from 1992, so I would’ve been 9 - prime Sears Wish Book age! Do you remember circling things in this book when you were a kid??

I’m so excited to share that we will be having a yard sale on October 11th to raise money for my daughter’s upcoming trip to Europe to compete with Team Canada Dance!

What’s even MORE exciting is that we’ve had some wonderfully generous donations from our community and we’ve put together a basket worth over $700 that we will be raffling off!

Can’t make it on the 11th? No worries- just message me for tickets!

And YES! You read that right! .pond.slimes will be at the yard sale for one final slime run!!

It’s always a good day for pizza! 🍕

As many of you know, our kiddo is headed to Belgium in the Fall to compete in jazz and modern with Team Canada Dance to represent both her hometown of Ayr and studio home of Paris on the World Stage!

We’re so thankful to Dominos Paris for partnering with us to fundraise for her trip. A portion of the proceeds from each $15 GC will go directly to her travel costs.

I will have the GC’s in hand by Friday morning and will gladly deliver in Ayr and Paris! (The GC’s, not the pizza! 😂)
