A tale of two prints 💙

First pull? Not great. The paint was too wet and the details got lost.
Second pull? Much better!

Letting the paint get tacky before rolling is KEY..but so hard to get right 😅 It’s such a fine line between too wet and too dry.

This time I layered blue with silver and the contrast is everything ✨

Which do you prefer — the solid blue on top or the blue + silver on the bottom? 👇

Materials:
Gelli Arts plate
Liquitex, Mont Marte, Artist Loft paint
Plain printer paper

Trying this again with different music because Meta didn’t like the last one 😂

That’s a wrap on the doily gelli print series 💙
10 tries. 10 textures. 1 thrift store bag of doilies.

From the first pull to the final burnt umber + text print,
each one taught me something new about layering, color, and patience ✨

Which one is your favorite? Tell me below 👇

Thank you for coming along for every print!
What should I experiment with next?

08/27/2026

Not every experiment turns out how you pictured it 💙

I tried to make a bright masterboard background with inks...
and got something way more dull and muted instead 😅

But I used it anyway. Cut it down and turned it into Artist Trading Cards for the Banff retreat.
Sometimes the “mistakes” make the best vintage backgrounds.

Be kind to yourself is the perfect sentiment for how I was feeling with this one, lol. 😉

Do you ever use backgrounds that didn’t go as planned? Tell me 👇

Tenth try, tenth texture 💙
When burnt umber + text make magic ✨

This doily pulled the crispiest lace detail and looks amazing with the dictionary print layered underneath.
The texture is so deep you can feel every loop in the doily.

That’s a wrap on the thrift store bag of doilies! 🎉
I’ll have a recap of all 10 prints on Friday — don’t miss it 😉

Did you catch all 10? Tell me 👇

New Rest and Relaxation page featuring the Pocket Page Inserts 4 and some Journal Sleeves.

I wanted to keep this whole week on one page...
because if I give every moment its own spread, my binder will explode 😂

So I added journal sleeves for extra photos,
and made a little ticket tab that turns to open them up.

Now this pocket page holds more, without taking up more space.

Sometimes memory keeping is just problem solving 😉
Do you like to add interactive bits to your pages too? Tell me 👇

Ninth try, ninth texture 💙
When this blue + silver combo makes magic ✨

This large doily pulled the crispiest detail and the colors layered so clean.
Zero sticking this time + you can still see hints of text underneath.

Almost done with the thrift store bag of doilies! Final drops on Wednesday — don’t miss it 😉

What’s your favorite color combo to pull on your gelli plate? Tell me 👇

Eighth try, eighth texture 💙
When you’re pleasantly surprised 😮

Today I grabbed the weird plastic doily from the thrift store bag of doilies. Wasn’t sure it was going to work and my paper even stuck to the plate 😅 But look at that detail!

Sometimes the wonky finds turn out the best.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever used on your gelli plate? Tell me 👇

Week 30 in my Everyday Memories binder ✨
This one’s a companion page to last weeks — they’re fabulous together 😉

Started with the Rounded Travel page as my base, then added Devid’s Layers of Time rub-ons for additional texture. Used the Tri-fold slider pocket as the focus with some Journal Ephemera 2.

The slider pocket is perfect for tucking extra photo in!

Do you like to mix collections too? Ya or nah? 👇

The results from my live over on the Elizabeth Craft Designs page today.

I love how this turned out and thanks for the advice on the strips. I added all three onto the flaps of the pockets 😉

I also added the brown strip to the pocket page orange strips to tie it all together.

You can find the replay on the ECD YouTube page. Link in comments.
