This is such a special kind of Japanese wind chime.

Most furin wind chimes in Japan are hung by the window, but this one comes with a beautiful bamboo stand, so you can enjoy it on a desk, shelf, entryway, or wherever you want to bring in a little calm.

The brass chime is made in Odawara, a city with a long history of metal casting, and the bamboo stand is made in Shizuoka using traditional Suruga bamboo craft.

I love how it feels like a small art piece even when it’s just sitting there. And when the breeze catches it, the sound is soft, deep, and so calming, like a quiet summer evening.

A lovely piece for summer, but honestly, I’d keep it out all year.

Some of you may have already seen this in Haru’s video. Thank you, Haru!

This is a reusable coffee filter made from sarashi, a traditional Japanese cotton fabric.

In Canada, a lot of people use capsule coffee makers or French presses, but in many Japanese homes, pour-over coffee has been the everyday classic for a long time. So this cone-shaped filter feels very familiar to us.

The nice thing about this one is that you don’t throw it away after each use. Just rinse, dry, and use it again.

It’s a small switch, but it’s more economical, less wasteful, and a little kinder to the planet.

A simple Japanese coffee tool for anyone who loves a good slow coffee moment.
