At Ashbrook, we pride ourselves on the wide range of stock we have in the garden centre, while The Cafe @ Ashbrook offers delicious home cooking & baking, plus a gift shop with local arts and crafts. We have recently created a Woodland Wander for visitors to explore.

Delightful Delphiniums.

Classic stately border flowers, Delphiniums prefer fertile well drained soil in a sunny position. Taller varieties require staking.
Cut off the dead flower spikes and feed the plants to encourage secondary autumn flowering.
Mound grit over the crowns in winter to keep the slugs off.

Lagurus ovatus - affectionately known as “Bunny Tails” due to its buttery soft flower heads. It is the perfect addition to sensory gardens or added into patio pots for its lovely contrasting foliage.

The flowers can also be dried and used in floral arrangements or craft projects!

This grass doesn’t like being too wet, and will grow happily in costal areas.

Do you want a garden full of colour all summer long? Well, now is the perfect time to head along to Ashbrook and fill your trolley with our bedding and patio plants. Perfect for planted containers, hanging baskets, beds and borders, we have a wonderful range of healthy plants, grown right here at Ashbrook.

These plants are mostly annuals, but will flower and flower until the frosts hit at the tail end of the year.

We have lots of beautiful pre-planted containers and baskets available at various price points ready to go.

To get the most out of your plants, dead head spent flowers and give them the occasional feed.

Lorna & Sally from our nursery team have created these beautiful themed displays of plants for pollinators and plants for the seaside.

They are packed full of Ashbrook grown perennials which will come back and flower year after year.

Don’t be afraid to delve into the displays and pick out your favourites… or perhaps you might just be tempted to take the whole bench full!

Plants include Delphiniums, Geraniums, Lavender, Salvia, Veronica, Achillea, Digitalis, Euphorbia, Salvia, Erigeron, Filipendula and many more.

We have recently created a new shade area in our garden centre and it is home to some lovely specimens, including our Ashbrook grown Hostas (which actually do just fine in the sun too). They like a rich moist soil sheltered from harsh winds, and can look lovely in a pot - just don’t let them dry out too much.

Hostas are noted for their foliage interest, but they do also produce pretty flowers late in summer.

Slugs do seem to have a particular taste for Hostas so it is best to implement preventative measures to keep them at bay. Available in our garden centre, slug pellets and grit can help keep them at bay, while Strulch is also quite effective as they do not like the scratchy straw surface (and it is excellent at keeping the weeds down too!).
