A wee word from me…

I was so looking forward to welcoming some familiar and new faces into my new studio space next week, but sadly, it’s not quite ready yet!

I’ll keep you posted as soon as I have an official opening date, but in the meantime, please do spread the word that I’m moving to a brand-new studio space! It’s an exciting new chapter for me, and I’m hoping to be all settled in just in time for the festive period.

I shan’t be holding wreath-making classes this year, as time is a little short. However, I’m hoping to host a little ‘Come and Buy’ evening during Christmas week.

I know, I know… I’m sorry for mentioning that word already! Speaking of which… have you ordered your wreath yet? Haha!

Thank you for all your continued support so far, and for helping to keep my dream alive. It means such a lot to me. Even if you’re simply on the periphery, giving me the odd like or share, please know that it truly means the world!

Much love,

James. ###

Good morrow lovely people!
Out of office is now on until Tuesday.
Off on a wee jaunt to Lichfield Cathedral to sing my little heart out, with Caelestis.
Have a great weekend.
Much love,

Another busy weekend ahead…but last weekend I attended the flower festival at Duns Parish Church on Saturday afternoon, to admire all the beautiful flowers and hard work of the ladies.
Tea and cake were also on offer. Delicious.
Then on Sunday evening I had the pleasure of playing for their Harvest Songs of Praise service in Edrom.
Always a pleasure to go back to where it all started for me as a boy. So many friendly and familiar faces! ###

A very good morning! Happy ‘hump’ Day!
How on earth are we at the last day in September?

You know what that means though? The countdown is on to move to my new studio space too! So excited and will be sharing details of that in the next couple of weeks!

Now then…‘The Little Friday Brightener’…using recycled glass bottles, these little arrangements will be available from our lovely friends at Cafe U on Roxburgh Street, on Friday morning!

£12.00 each.

Limited availability, so do please drop me a DM or a call!

Have a great day, much love!

A very good morning!

Wishing you all the happiest of Saturday’s…it’s going to be a most beautiful day ahead with the wedding of Veronica and Bob, at the magnificent Bamburgh Castle! Not only am I doing the flowers; I also have the pleasure of being the pianist for the wedding ceremony! Delighted to be part of such a special day!

I’ll be back to work on Tuesday as I’m taking a couple of days off to celebrate my birthday too.

Lots of good things happening about in the next couple of weeks…and all will be revealed in the fullness of time regarding my new work premises!

Bon Weekend my lovelies! ###

I am absolutely bowled over by everyone’s kindness, lovely messages of support and little check-ins following my recent post about how I’ve been feeling. ❤️

Sometimes putting yourself out there isn’t such a bad thing after all, and I genuinely feel so much better for having shared it with you. I’m a very lucky young man to have so much love and support from near and far. Truly, I’m blessed. ❤️

And remember when I said exciting things were coming…? Well, they’re getting closer, and I really think you’re going to LOVE what’s coming! 👀

I won’t be back in the town centre, but I will have a retail premises again! 🌸

I know some people have been a little unsure about contacting me because I’m currently working from home — but please, don’t be! I needed a little time away from having a shop, and working from home was the next best thing. It’s worked brilliantly in many ways, but I’m feeling incredibly positive about the change that’s coming.

And the best bit? It’ll give you the opportunity to pop in, browse, have a natter and say hello every now and again — which I’ve rather missed! 🥰

I’ll still be keeping the hours I currently work; I will try to accommodate everyone where I can though. I’m just not quite ready to become a 24-hour florist just yet! 😂

So…exciting changes are afoot, lovely people. Watch this space! 🥰 ###

🌻 Remembering dearest Ellice… 🌻

I’m always so blessed and privileged when Kirstin & Fraser at Café U ask me to work my floral magic — but this time, they asked me to do something a little different… decorating the front door of the Murray family home in Birgham.

And goodness me… I think I may just have blown Mrs Murray away! 🥰🌻

Over 200 sunflowers have gone into this very special doorway, lovingly created to honour dearest Ellice, on what would have been her 21st birthday weekend. 💛

An enormous amount of love, care and thought has gone into every little detail — and now, with Kirstin & Fraser’s kind permission, you’re all invited to pop by, have a look and take a lovely, cheerful photograph at the door for Ellice. 📸🌻

Let’s fill the weekend with sunshine, smiles and happy memories as we celebrate a beautiful young lady, an amazing character, and a life that was heartbreakingly taken far too soon.

Because celebrating Ellice means keeping her memory alive — and what better way than with 200+ bright, happy sunflowers! 🌻💛

Happy 21st Birthday, Ellice!
Keep shining, darling girl. ✨

With love from me,
Auntie Jamie ###

Right… confession time. 🙈🌸

I’ve not been quite myself lately.

I’ve been battling some pretty horrendous anxiety, and if I’m honest, it’s knocked my confidence — both personally and in my work.

I’m not after sympathy, honestly. I just wanted to be open about it, because I know how many lovely people genuinely care and wish me well.

I love what I do. I love my flowers, my customers, the people I meet and my little empire! ❤️

So, to every single person who orders, recommends me, likes, shares, comments, sends a message, or simply tells someone about Flowers by McKenzie — thank you.

You probably don’t realise just how much your support means to me. It genuinely means the absolute world. 💐

I am absolutely determined to put that smile on, crack on and keep doing what I love. Every now and again, though, my tiara slips… and I just have to stop and readjust it! 👑😂

I’m slowly getting my mojo back, one day at a time.

Now… enough of the serious stuff. There are flowers to be made! 😂🌸

Much love, Jamie ###.

Happy Tuesday and welcome to another day on planet earth! Bienvenue!

A busier end to the week last week than anticipated, with beautiful flowers going out in all directions! Some travelling south, some going to sunny Duns, others travelling a bit further north and even some in Kelso!

I’m always happy to help whenever I can and it makes me so happy to know my flowers are appreciated!

If you’ve been the recipient or indeed the sender of my flowers, I would really appreciate a little review on Google! It doesn’t need to be much…even just how ‘totes maze the florist was!’ 🙊🙊🙊😂😂😂

Another busy week ahead. Lots of appointments for events coming up towards the word that everyone dreads…Mariah is slowly thawing…just slowly!

Fresh delivery this morning into the studio…it’s all go again…but first…coffee! ###
