One of the places I’m hoping to visit in West Bengal is Gaine Castle in Dhanyakuria. Not built by the British colonial élite, as might be suspected, but by Mahendranath Gaine in the 19th century as a garden retreat. There are many other decaying mansions in this area, all built by wealthy Indian merchants and traders.

A couple of non-paying buyers… so I have combined my remaining antique and vintage carved shell cameos into 2 lots (30 in each lot). See photo 2 for the letter of each.
All in very hood condition, and good for jewellery projects.
The largest are 5cms x 4cms.

NB - these are for immediate payment, so I can ship them tomorrow morning, when I do my last PO run to collect all the tracking numbers.

Last parcels are going down to the post office now to start their journey to you today… over 200 parcels of treasure.
Huge thank you to my lovely packing assistant who has been working tirelessly since early Monday morning.
I will collect the tracking numbers on Friday.
But now, it’s time to pack my own cases for 6 weeks in India!

If Jaipur is the pink city, Kolkata is the yellow city for me…I love it.
Those iconic yellow taxis, the marigolds at the flower markets, the silks…
Off to Kolkata on Saturday for a few days (and a longer stay at the end of our 6 week trip).
Then heading to Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Maheshwar, Goa, Chennai, Pondicherry, Darjeeling…
