The glass floor on the first floor is officially in place!

And yes, before you ask, you can walk on it. It’s more than strong enough.

Beyond being a pretty impressive design feature, it allows natural light to travel through the different levels of the house, creating a brighter, more open feel throughout.

A little bit of engineering, a little bit of art, and definitely one of the features that makes this home stand out.

Dubai is introducing a more structured framework for how contractors are registered, classified and permitted to operate.

For owners undertaking substantial residential works, contractor selection is becoming an increasingly important part of project risk.

A NEW STANDARD OF CONTRACTOR OVERSIGHT.

Under Dubai’s new framework, contractors must operate within their approved:

Technical capability
Financial capability
Classification

The law also regulates subcontracting and establishes a central contractor register managed by Dubai Municipality.

Existing contractors are required to regularise their position by January 2027, unless the transition period is extended.

OUR VIEW

For an ultra-prime refurbishment, selecting a contractor should go considerably further than comparing a price.

Capability, permitted scope, technical resources, specialist subcontractors and experience delivering the required standard should all be understood before appointment.

Because an exceptional design is only as strong as the team capable of delivering it.

Good project management starts with who is allowed and genuinely equipped to build it.
