Contemporary art can completely transform a coastal hotel interior 🌊

Beatriz Elorza’s expressive paintings feel naturally at home in luxury coastal hotels and Mediterranean interiors, bringing movement, colour and personality into spaces defined by natural light, stone and organic materials.

From a statement artwork in a hotel lobby to carefully curated pieces in hotel suites and living spaces, her work shows how contemporary art can elevate hospitality design while still feeling connected to its surroundings.

For us, the best hotel art curation isn’t simply about filling a wall. It’s about choosing artwork that becomes part of the atmosphere, architecture and guest experience.

We would never design a room around a trend.

That doesn’t mean we don’t follow them. Of course we do. Trends can introduce us to new materials, colors, ideas and ways of approaching a space.

But they should be inspiration — not the starting point.

For us, the starting point is always the architecture and the person who will actually live there.

How does the natural light move through the space? What materials belong to the architecture? How does our client live? What have they collected? What art do they connect with? What will still feel right to them years from now?

Because when every decision is based on what’s currently popular, you risk creating an interior that could belong to anyone.

And the most memorable homes don’t feel like that.

They feel personal.

We would rather create an interior that tells your story than one that tells us what year it was designed.

Curated, not copied. Designed to last.

The frame can completely change the way you experience an artwork.

Looking at Ian’s expressive art pieces, we noticed one of the most overlooked elements of art curation: framing.

The right frame can:

✓ Give an artwork greater presence
✓ Change its perceived scale and proportions
✓ Draw the eye towards the work
✓ Connect the art with the surrounding interior
✓ Protect the piece over time
✓ Create a stronger focal point within the room

With work as expressive and layered as Ian’s, the frame needs to complement the art without competing with it. Sometimes that means keeping it minimal. Other times, a more substantial frame can give the piece exactly the presence the space requires.

Because we don’t just consider the artwork.

We consider the art, the frame and the interior as one complete composition.

Your interior might be one of your most powerful marketing tools ⬇️

As a marketing strategist, I’ve always been fascinated by the connection between branding and interior design.

We tend to think of marketing as Instagram, websites, advertising and PR. But especially in hospitality, your brand is being communicated long before someone sees an advert.

It happens when they walk through the door.

The atmosphere. The lighting. The materials. The art. The details people photograph without being asked.

Think about the hotels and restaurants you recognise from a single image. That level of identity isn’t accidental.

A memorable interior gives people something to experience, talk about, photograph and share. And when that happens, your customers naturally become part of your marketing.

So when we approach a hospitality project, I don’t think the question should only be:
“Does this look beautiful?”

It should also be:
“Will people remember it?”

Because good design creates beautiful spaces.
Great design creates recognition.

If your hotel lobby doesn’t make people stop and look, something is missing.

Ian Rayer-Smith’s work does exactly that.

Bold, expressive and impossible to overlook, his paintings turn art into part of the guest experience — creating focal points that give hotel interiors character, energy and a memorable sense of identity.

Because in hospitality design, the right artwork doesn’t just fill a wall. It gives people something to remember.

Why do curves make an interior feel more calming?

In contemporary interior design, curved furniture and organic shapes do more than create a beautiful aesthetic—they can completely change the way a space feels.

Most interiors are naturally dominated by straight architectural lines: walls, windows, cabinetry and flooring. Introducing a curved sofa, round dining table or sculptural furniture helps soften those lines, creating a sense of flow, balance and warmth.

For us, luxury interior design isn’t simply about how a home looks. It’s about how architecture, furniture, materials, lighting and art work together to influence how you experience the space.

Sometimes, one curve is all it takes.
Because the best interiors should feel as good as they look.

When Andreas Sundgren’s photography enters a space, it becomes more than art, it becomes the focal point.

There’s something about fine art photography that brings a completely different energy to an interior, and Andreas’s work does exactly that. Bold, expressive and full of character, his pieces instantly give a room a stronger sense of identity.

We love seeing how his work can completely shift the feeling of a space while still feeling like it was always meant to be there.

Every project begins with a clear vision, but it’s the details that bring it to life.

For this South Kensington residence, we carefully balanced rich natural materials, bespoke joinery, sculptural furniture, and a restrained palette to create a home that feels timeless, contemporary, and deeply personal.

Every element was chosen with purpose. Every detail contributes to the whole.

At Art Concepts London, we believe exceptional interiors are curated—not simply decorated.
