STUD WALLS • stud walls are a great way to create a ‘broken’ open plan space. They can allow a space to still feel spacious and light whilst also zoning key areas. Especially useful in bathrooms to create shower areas which can then house handy little shower niches or hidden storage behind mirrors as in pic 1. Also great for large open plan living spaces as in pic 2 where we were then able to install a decorative double sided fire and lovely display areas.

POOL ROOM • apparently the 🌞 will be even hotter today so sharing this gorgeous view from the pool house design we completed a few years ago. Creating a living, kitchen, shower room in the pool house creates a space that can be used all year round but it really comes into its own when the doors can be opened fully and the pool is just a short step away…. With we designed bespoke red and white striped cushions for the pool loungers and continued the stripe onto the parasols to give the outside space a wonderful colour pop against the blue of the pool.

KITCHEN WALL LIGHTS • lighting in a kitchen is so important and a massive part of the overall design concept. We will need some downlighting/spot lights but don’t overdo it. Try and mix it up a little. We often see pendants over an island or dining table but for me, adding wall lights in a kitchen makes all the difference ❤️

HOME OFFICE • lots of us still need a working base at home. This first image was a small area off an open plan kitchen living space being used as a playroom. No longer really needed for this use, we designed a wonderful office area and installed steel doors to make it all feel a bit more private when needed. You may only have a small area you can dedicate to a home working space or maybe the luxury of a much bigger room. Whatever you are working with, if it’s a space you’re going to spend quite a bit of time in then every reason to fill with your favourite artwork or wallpaper designs to entice you in!

BOOT ROOM • if you get the storage right then it can take the pressure off other areas in the house and you’ve more chance of keeping on top of things. If space allows, having an area for coats, shoes, boots … is a great way to contain the ‘stuff’ of busy lives.

LIVING • this room was being used as a bit of a music room/snug (swipe right) but we really wanted to transform it into a welcoming living space. The ceilings felt quite low but by adding some architectural detailing (panelling and coving) and colour drenching the whole room, it really made the space feel far taller and grander. New lighting, furnishings and a bit of love to the flooring and it feels like a totally different room.

MIXING OLD & NEW • it’s wonderful to be able to work on amazing period properties and embrace the beautiful period features they provide. But sometimes, adding a little ‘new’ into the mix can really elevate the space even more. Injecting modern glazing and statement contemporary lighting can add a welcomed contrast between the existing bones of the home and the new.
