AI and design • whilst creating numerous design visuals over the last week it’s really highlighted to me that yes, AI is powerful and definitely can speed up design steps for some basic visual tasks, but successful application still very much relies on that human touch. We still need to understand feeling. How does a client want a space to feel on an emotional level? Understanding unusual spaces, limitations or imperfections and how to embrace these when creating unique, personal spaces still is very much about a ‘human’ feeling ❤️

OFFICE • SHELVING • Many clients require an area within their home for ‘work’ and it’s important to think about storage when designing these spaces. Open shelving can look really wonderful and soften a full wall of storage but it’s a good idea to consider an element of ‘hidden storage’ for the bits that maybe don’t look quite so nice on show.

BEDROOM & DRESSING ROOM• revisiting this bedroom design which was created by building into the loft area. It was an awkward space and we decided to leave the dressing area open plan as it worked better for the layout. Given that it would be viewed from the bedroom we wanted the design to be attractive. STUD WALLS • stud walls are a great way to create a ‘broken’ open plan space. They can allow a space to still feel spacious and light whilst also zoning key areas. Especially useful in bathrooms to create shower areas which can then house handy little shower niches or hidden storage behind mirrors as in pic 1. Also great for large open plan living spaces as in pic 2 where we were then able to install a decorative double sided fire and lovely display areas.

POOL ROOM • apparently the 🌞 will be even hotter today so sharing this gorgeous view from the pool house design we completed a few years ago. Creating a living, kitchen, shower room in the pool house creates a space that can be used all year round but it really comes into its own when the doors can be opened fully and the pool is just a short step away…. With we designed bespoke red and white striped cushions for the pool loungers and continued the stripe onto the parasols to give the outside space a wonderful colour pop against the blue of the pool.
