This morning, we’re celebrating something really special. ❤️

Join us from 10am to 12pm for the opening celebration of our ‘My Happy Place’ Community Exhibition.

Over 100 people of all ages, from under 10s to adults, have shared their own interpretation of what makes them happy. Every piece tells a story, and hearing those stories has been one of the most rewarding things we’ve ever done at Sage and Salt Studio.

We’ve seen families creating together, people rediscovering their love of art, and individuals taking time to reflect on the places, people and moments that bring them joy. It’s been a beautiful reminder of the power of creativity to connect us.

Come along, meet some of the artists, explore the exhibition and cast your vote for your favourite artworks. The winning adult artist will receive £100, with art kits up for grabs for our children’s category winners.

And if you fall in love with a piece, every artwork in the exhibition is available to purchase for just £50. After all, someone else’s happy place might just be yours too.

The exhibition runs for the next two weeks, so there’s plenty of time to visit and cast your vote but we’d love to see you this morning and celebrate the amazing community that made this exhibition possible.

Yesterday's Mindful Monday was all about mandalas, creating beautiful patterns, adding colour, and taking a little time to slow down.

One of the lovely things about Mindful Monday is that every week is different. One week we might be painting with watercolours, another exploring alcohol inks, creating collages, making bookmarks, or trying something completely new. You don't need any experience or artistic talent, just a willingness to have a go.

Art has a wonderful way of helping us switch off from the busyness of everyday life. For an hour and a half, there's no pressure to produce a masterpiece. It's simply time to relax, create, chat if you want to, and enjoy the process.

We’re delighted to welcome Sarah as a new maker joining Sage and Salt Studio this June!

Sarah creates beautifully contemporary jewellery using miniature silkscreens on polymer clay, producing striking designs filled with colour, texture, and intricate detail. With a background in graphic design, her creative eye shines through in every piece.

After losing her job during lockdown, Sarah took the leap to start her own jewellery business and now works from her studio at Walford Mill Craft Gallery in Dorset alongside other talented makers.

Her collection will be arriving in the gallery this month and we can’t wait for you to see it. Which style of jewellery do you usually gravitate towards, bold statement pieces or something more delicate and subtle? 👇

A few spaces available for tomorrow’s botanicals workshop Sage and Salt Studio, Petersfield, where you’ll learn how to make a mould of small flowers like daisies, or from leaves like the blackberry leaf in the photo. Then, you’ll use your silver metal clay to take an impression from the mould, turning it into a beautiful REAL silver pendant.

Materials included although you are welcome to bring small flowers or leaves (the size of a daisy) with you. Chains available for £7. Tea & coffee provided.

Back by popular demand, we’re delighted to welcome Nicky Chubb back to our Artist of the Week window for another fortnight.

Nicky’s vibrant mixed media paintings are filled with colour, light and optimism, drawing inspiration from the trees and landscapes surrounding her Surrey home. Her work beautifully captures the changing seasons and those fleeting moments of light that can transform an ordinary scene into something magical.

Originally trained in fashion design, Nicky brings a wonderful sense of texture, pattern and colour to her paintings. Her distinctive tree and floral artworks have found collectors across the UK and around the world, and we’re thrilled to be showcasing her work once again at Sage and Salt Studio.

Pop by and take a closer look. Her beautiful collection will be on display in our window until Friday 19th June.

🌊 Artist of the Month | June 🌊

We're delighted to introduce our June Artist of the Month, Tania Wilkie, whose stunning large-scale oil painting ‘View of Ryde I’ is now taking pride of place on our feature wall at Sage and Salt Studio.

Measuring an impressive 1m x 1m, this beautiful seascape captures the view of the Isle of Wight from Tania's attic studio. Remarkably, despite admiring this scene every day for more than two decades, this is the first time she has painted it.

The painting features the familiar silhouette of Ryde on the horizon, including the church visible to the left, and reflects a landscape that is slowly changing as the fields between Tania's home and the Solent become increasingly overgrown. Inspired by the view she fell in love with 23 years ago, Tania plans to create more works celebrating this stretch of coastline and its iconic Isle of Wight ferries.

If you've ever stood on our local shoreline gazing across the Solent, you'll understand the sense of connection and nostalgia captured in this piece.
