What a night 🤍

A huge thank you to all of the artists, collectors, friends and supporters who joined us this evening to celebrate One Year of Ashe.

It was pretty special to see the gallery filled with the people who have helped shape this first year - surrounded by the incredible work of more than 20 Ashe artists.

I’m feeling very grateful for this community and everything we’re continuing to build together.

I’m honestly blown away by the calibre of work in this exhibition. So many delicious colours, textures, materials and details to discover, with each piece bringing its own story and perspective to the space.

It’s such a wonderful reflection of the diversity of artists and creative practices that make up the Ashe community.

IN GOOD COMPANY is officially on show!

A special group exhibition celebrating One Year of Ashe, featuring original works by more than 20 Ashe artists across painting, sculpture, ceramics, and textiles.

Come and experience the works in person at 153 High Street - they’re best seen up close. A selection is also available to view online.

Join us this Wednesday 19 August, 5–7.30pm for Slow Viewings & Artist Talks, with exhibiting artists joining us for an evening of conversation, art and celebratory bubbles.

I'm so excited to welcome you into Ashe next Wednesday evening to celebrate my first 12 months in business and the wonderful creative community that has grown around the gallery.

Set amongst In Good Company, more than 20 Ashe artists will be exhibiting a new and unique artwork as part of this special group exhibition celebrating Art, Artists & Community.

Join us for an evening of slow viewing, conversation and celebratory bubbles, with a number of exhibiting artists joining us to share more about their work and creative practice.

Stone Ripples painting series by Tania Bostock

"For me painting is emotive, and a great deal of time and thought goes into each creation. I am drawn to texture and contrast, and my process consists of straightening and perfecting, then pushing the paint in a freer, less controlled manner. I find both approaches necessary, working in multiple layers with each."

"Symbolic of time and aging, my paintings may resemble man-made objects such as rusted metal, or the beautiful fine subtleties in nature’s stone. To achieve this effect I am influenced by colour and texture, clearing my mind to concentrate only on the process."

This August , I'm proud to celebrate One Year of Ashe.
From 17–30 August, discover In Good Company Art Exhibition , a special group exhibition bringing together more than 20 Ashe artists. Featuring original paintings, sculpture, ceramics, bronze, textiles and more, the exhibition celebrates the incredible creative community that continues to shape Ashe and contemporary art in Ōtautahi Christchurch.
