Building a shower that actually lasts? 🚿
Let’s talk about a tiny detail that makes a massive difference: the sip hole (or weep hole) in your shower kerb.
Many homeowners think tile and grout are 100% waterproof, but moisture inevitably seeps beneath the surface. Without a properly placed weep hole through the shower threshold, trapped water has nowhere to go, leading to stagnant pools, foul odors, and damp grout lines leaking into your dry area. Leaving that little drainage path open allows trapped sub-surface water to flow right back out into the floor trap where it belongs!
