A little behind the scenes of Nonna’s Kitchen 🍋🌻🇮🇹

This client is all about 100-year old Italian kitchens. Picking out lots of pattern, color, and tiles from my childhood memories, the travels around Italy I’ve done over the years, it was a fun and emotional assignment!

I’m mixing different patterns and finishes to make the new kitchen feel collected over time, rather than brand new. Colors that are fitting with the old Italian country homes aesthetic. The beautifully made antiqued tiles that are still produced today.

This is one of my favorite parts of the design process: putting all the materials together and seeing what happens.

Serene. Seashore. Mountains. Here are some of the keywords that were the guiding star for this kitchen remodel.
No big layout changes, no bold choices. This was a joyful, soul-feeding collaboration that we always, always appreciate.
Big plus: they went for one of our favorite tile backsplash, one we had been manifesting for quite a while! Check back next month for the final unveiling.
