I can’t believe we moved a year ago from Boston 🤯

In many ways, it feels like we just arrived. In other ways, it’s hard to imagine life anywhere else.

We’ve fallen in love with this town. The people, the sense of community, the walkability, the schools, the local businesses, the friendships, and all of the little moments that have made Bronxville feel like home.

There were a lot of emotions leading up to the move. Excitement, uncertainty, nostalgia, and more than a few tears. But looking back, I’m incredibly grateful for this chapter and everything it has brought to our family.

What I’m most thankful for are the incredible friendships we’ve already made along the way. From neighbors who welcomed us with open arms to friends who have quickly become part of our everyday lives, you’ve made this transition so much easier and more meaningful than we ever could have imagined. We feel incredibly lucky to be part of such a great community with epic people.

Here’s to one year of new memories, new friendships, and a place that truly feels like home. Sorry Dad 😂

One of the best parts of being an interior designer is that you’re always learning and always discovering new resources.

I’ve spent years building relationships with incredible vendors throughout Boston and New England. Now I want to continue expanding my network here in Westchester.

So tell me…

Who are the vendors, tradespeople, showrooms, and hidden gems that every designer should know about?

I’m always looking for exceptional:

• Tile suppliers
• Stone yards
• Paint stores
• Wallpaper resources
• Cabinet makers
• Millworkers
• Window treatment specialists
• Furniture vendors
• Contractors and trades

& other designers you LOVE 💗

Fun Fact: my first true love was musical theatre 🎭

Also…..time for us all to take a moment and have some fun 😘

You’re going to want to save this for later. ⬆️

These are the 🖐️ interior design sizing rules designers use constantly to make rooms feel more balanced, elevated, and intentional.

1️⃣ Rugs should be large enough that at least the front legs of your furniture sit on the rug. Tiny rugs make rooms feel disconnected instantly.

2️⃣ Leave about 16–18” between your sofa and coffee table so the room feels functional without looking awkwardly spaced out.

3️⃣ Dining chandeliers should be about 1/2 to 2/3 the width of the table. Most people hang fixtures that are way too small.

4️⃣ Nightstands should sit close to mattress height. If they are dramatically lower or higher, the entire bedroom feels off balance.

5️⃣ Leave about 30–36” for walkways so the room feels open, comfortable, and easy to move through.

Tiny rugs. Oversized sectionals. Chandeliers the size of a salad bowl. Coffee tables floating in another zip code.

Good design is not just about what you buy. It’s about proportion, spacing, and scale.

One of the best parts about living in Westchester as an interior designer?

I can finish school drop off… and be sourcing fabrics, lighting, rugs, and furniture in Manhattan before most people finish their second coffee.

And honestly? It’s a total game changer for my clients.

Because as good as things look online, nothing compares to seeing materials in person. The texture. The scale. The undertones. The “wait… this looked completely different on the website” moments.

Some of the best decisions happen during these sourcing days and usually after touching 47 fabrics, sitting on 12 chairs, and carrying way too many showroom samples back on the train.

This is the mistake most people don’t realize they’re making.

They choose materials based on how they look… not how they live.

The marble that stains the first time you use it.
The dining chairs no one actually wants to sit in.
The bathroom floor that feels slippery the second it gets wet.
The rug that throws off the entire room without you knowing why.

Individually, they seem like small decisions.
Together, they completely change how your home feels day to day.

When I’m sourcing, I’m not just asking “does this look good?”
I’m thinking about durability, maintenance, scale, and how it all works together in real life.
