The Parade of Homes just wrapped, 51 homes, 19 Central Ohio communities, New Albany included. And I walked away impressed.

Color drenching and elevated powder rooms were everywhere this year, and honestly, builders are onto something. Saturated color with real intention. A guest bath that finally gets treated like a moment instead of an afterthought. That is the right instinct.

Here is where I would take it further. A drenched room asks for one object with real age in it, an antique mirror with true patina, not a flat paint color standing alone. A powder room asks for pattern with texture and history, hand blocked wallpaper instead of the expected accent wall.

New builds set the stage. Layers are what make a house feel like it has always been a home. That is the difference I bring to every project in New Albany and beyond.

Rates just hit a one year high: 7.24% on the 30-year fixed. But Columbus home prices actually rose in September, a month when they usually dip. I've had a few clients ask me this month whether now is the time to sell or the time to stay and reinvest. Swipe through for why that local number changes the math, and what I'm telling clients right now. Link in bio if you want to talk through your own home. 🤎

Every September, Paris Design Week gives us a preview of where the design world is headed. This year's headline: craftsmanship is back, and I have never been happier to say I told you so.

Hand-blown Murano pendants. Art deco dining chairs with lines so clean they could have been drawn a century ago. Metals mixed with intention instead of matched by rule. Business of Home covered it as news. I have been sourcing it for clients since 2013.

Here is what I love most about pieces like these: you will not find them on a showroom floor. They come through relationships, the kind built over years of working with the right mills, glassblowers, and ateliers. That access is not something you can shop for. It is something a designer brings to the table.

Swipe through to see how each of these translates into a Central Ohio home, heritage lines, not costume. Full piece on the blog, link in bio.

I opened my inbox this week to a headline calling jewel-toned rooms the look of fall. My reaction? We have been doing this since 2013.

Burgundy. Plum. Navy. The palette everyone is calling new is the one I have built entire rooms around for over a decade. The difference is in how you layer it. Not a single accent wall, but navy from floor to ceiling. Not polished chrome, but brass that has earned its patina. Not a printed rug, but a vintage one with a real history under your feet.

Here is what I know after thirteen years of this: these rooms are not just having a moment. They photograph beautifully, they age well, and for my clients in Dublin, Powell, and New Albany thinking beyond next season, that is what actually holds value.

Swipe through for how to get the look right, the traditional way. Full breakdown on the blog, link in bio.

Matchy isn't the same as cohesive — and it's the #1 thing that makes a room feel like a showroom instead of a home.

The secret to a layered, collected space isn't buying a set. It's repeating a thread — a material, a color, a proportion — and letting everything else be a little different. That's how a room grows with you over time instead of looking "done" the day it's delivered.
Rad rooms aren't matched. They're mixed, on purpose.

Save this for your next room refresh, and comment which element you'd repeat first: material, color, or scale.

A quarter century ago today, our world changed in a single morning.

We lost 2,977 people — mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, friends, coworkers who went to work like any other day and never came home. We lost them in the towers, on the planes, at the Pentagon, in a field in Pennsylvania where passengers chose to fight back.

And in the middle of the worst of it, we saw the best of us. Firefighters climbing stairwells others were running down. Strangers pulling strangers from the wreckage with their bare hands. A city — a country — that stopped competing and started carrying each other.

Twenty-five years is a long time. Long enough that some of us were barely old enough to understand what we were watching. But it's not long enough to forget the names, the faces, or the way that day asked all of us to be a little braver, a little kinder, a little more grateful for the ordinary mornings.

Today we remember them. Not as statistics, but as people who were loved and are still missed.

We will never forget.

A bachelor pad done right isn't cold minimalism or a man-cave cliché — it's collected, layered, and a little unexpected.

Here, camel leather grounds the room while navy chairs add depth instead of matching. Brass repeats in the tray, the side tables, the lamp — a quiet thread tying it all together. Rush seating and warm wood soften the marble dining table so nothing feels too polished.

The books, the record references, the worn textures — that's where the personality lives. Rad doesn't mean stark. It means a space that actually feels like someone lives there.

Design a room around who you are, not just what's on trend.
