After years of quiet neutrals and minimal pattern, one of the most prominent trends at High Point Market was the return of lush, scenic botanical fabrics. It's a dramatic swing, and honestly, a welcome one.
Dense, romantic foliage and landscapes were everywhere; on oversized ottomans, upholstered beds and accent pieces.
Often referred to as verdure tapestries or scenic botanical jacquards, these fabrics represent a pretty dramatic departure from the understated aesthetic that has dominated the industry for years.
What makes these fabrics so special is their faded, antique quality. They feel inherited, not bought. Used boldly, they can carry a whole room, but like any statement, it has to be done well. Scale, color and what surrounds it make all the difference.
I’m thrilled to see personality coming back. The most interesting interiors have always had it.
What do you think of the return to traditional pattern?
