This year for What’s New, What’s Next, The Gallery at 200 Lex was honored to host New York Magazine’s Design Editor, Wendy Goodman, and acclaimed fashion designer, entrepreneur, actor, singer and television presenter, Isaac Mizrahi, for a conversation on what makes New York the design capital of the world in celebration of New York Design Center 100th Anniversary.

This dynamic design duo - Robert Guillerme and Jacques Chambron - initially met as prisoners during WWII, and then went on to form their highly influential company, Votre Maison.

Known for creating pieces that were both highly functional and innovative, Votre Maison continued to produce furniture right into the 20th century.

A Judith Leiber custom designed cabinet made exclusively for the Madison Avenue store. Featuring a faux snakeskin print and exquisite gold handbag drawer pulls. All drawers have removable velvet lined bottoms, and the cabinet has been newly refinished in an ivory gloss with new brass casters for easy movement.

A sculptural floor lamp produced in Italy during the 1970’s by the Milanese workshop Bottega Gadda, with the design attributed to Tommaso Barbi and Carlo Giorgi.

The lamp is defined by its oversized brass leaf, carefully hand-hammered to create a richly textured surface that captures the natural veining of the plant form. The leaf functions as a reflector for the concealed bulb behind it, producing a soft, atmospheric indirect light.
