Side by side, our artisans work from a coded color script placed behind the warp. With practiced rhythm, they loop the yarn around pair after pair of warp threads, slicing each knot free with a small, hooked blade. After completing a horizontal row of knots, a thick weft thread is passed through the warp, and a heavy brass comb is used to beat the row down firmly, locking every petal and vine of our Ivy design securely into place.
Months of deliberate hand labor are woven into every square inch, transforming raw wool and silk into an heirloom of quiet, blooming artistry.
