Apropos Design offers a comprehensive variety of Interior Design services.

At Apropos Design, our designs are created using the theory of "Emotional Aesthetics." We believe Interior Design is a combination of the visual aspects, as well as the feelings the space elicits.

Help us welcome Kat, the newest face at Apropos Design!

Kat joins us as our new intern with a degree in Video/Audio Communications and is currently taking college classes toward her Interior Design degree. She also serves as the student representative to the board of our local ASID chapter—we love seeing her get involved in the design community!

She loves a moody design vibe, asks awesome questions, and brings genuine curiosity and enthusiasm to our work together. We’ve really enjoyed having her join us for client meetings, share her thoughts, and contribute ideas and selections for client projects.

Supporting the next generation of designers is important to us, and it’s especially rewarding when we get to learn from their fresh perspectives, too.

We’re so glad you’re here, Kat! Join us in giving her a warm welcome. 🩷🤘🏻

We're planning window treatments… but first, we need a window.😂

We’re assisting Gitt Construction, Inc and Cabinet Design Studio on a lakeside project, and that lake view is already stealing the show. Our job? Figure out how to frame it without upstaging it.

For now, we’re calling this look “extremely open concept.”

We're designing with some of our favorite Fall color palettes that have a way of making a home feel more inviting.

At Apropos Design, we believe beautiful interiors should do more than look polished—they should create an emotional response. The colors, textures, and finishes you live with every day shape how a room feels when you walk in: whether it helps you relax, gather, recharge, or feel inspired.

This season, we’re drawn to palettes that feel warm, layered, and timeless:
*Terracotta, deep teal, and oxblood for richness and personality
*Moss green, walnut, aged brass, and creamy stone for a grounded, nature-inspired feel
*Olive, camel, warm white, and marble for tailored softness
*Charcoal, oak, woven neutrals, and mineral tones for calm, architectural warmth

The goal is never to make a home feel “fall themed.” It is to use the depth and warmth of the season as inspiration for a space that feels personal, livable, and enduring.

From a dramatic kitchen finish palette to a more subtle mix of textiles and furnishings, the right color story can make a home feel distinctly yours.

At Apropos Design, we design around our theory of Emotional Aesthetics—creating homes that are as meaningful for the homeowners to live in as they are beautiful to see.

We're sharing important tips for cabinetry!

Cabinetry is not a “later” decision. It is one of the first decisions that keeps a kitchen remodel moving forward.

Cabinets shape so much more than storage: they establish the layout, appliance clearances, countertop measurements, lighting locations, and plumbing plan. When cabinetry selections are made early, every trade involved has a clearer roadmap—and you have more time to make thoughtful choices rather than rushed compromises.

Planning early helps you:
Avoid delays caused by cabinet lead times

Coordinate appliances, countertops, plumbing, and electrical from the start

Secure the finishes, hardware, and custom details you truly want

Create a kitchen that functions beautifully for the way you live

A well-designed kitchen begins with an intentional plan—not just a beautiful finish palette.

If a kitchen renovation is on your horizon, let’s begin with the decisions that set the entire project up for success.

Save this post for your remodel planning, then send a message to schedule a consultation.

We're reminding you, your bathroom carpet called, it said "EW!"

This guest bathroom was a true time capsule—complete with 1970s carpet underfoot. While we can appreciate the era’s fearless style, a bathroom floor needs to stand up to water, daily routines, and real life.

For this remodel, the goal was more than simply “updating” the room. We focused on creating a space that feels:
• Unique and thoughtfully layered
• Durable and easy to maintain
• Functional with easy care and maintenance
• Timeless enough to enjoy for years to come
• Inviting and alluring experience for guests

The transformation proves that even the most dated spaces can become a stunning room in the house with the right plan, materials, and attention to detail.

From carpeted chaos to a bathroom made for modern life!

We are readyyyyy to design your bathroom remodel!! 🙋‍♀️

Warm neutrals, brushed gold hardware, and a curved vanity that feels more boutique hotel than "just a bathroom." This primary suite went from builder-basic to a spa you never want to leave — double vanities, a walk-in shower with dual shower heads, and a linen tower with enough storage to actually keep the counters clear. Every detail was chosen to fit how our client actually lives.

If a bathroom remodel is on your 2026 wish list, this is your sign. Send us a message — We'll walk you through what the process looks like from first call to final reveal and talk about what "ready" looks like for your space. You deserve to have your bathroom feel as good as it looks. ✨

We’re sharing why utilitarian rooms should be part of the overall design story and never ignored. This stunning and inviting multi-purpose laundry room/mudroom makes mundane daily tasks enjoyable and provides a space that works as hard as your family does.

This custom walnut suite carries the same warmth and craftsmanship from the sink all the way through the laundry room and mudroom — dark granite composite sink, richly stained walnut cabinets, brushed brass pulls, and gorgeous black-and-gold quartz that turns a hardworking bench into a statement piece.

Storage for every coat, leash, and muddy paw included. Because life with fur family calls for design that is as durable as it is beautiful! Our unofficial design consultant, Percy, approves.

Planning a laundry room or mudroom remodel of your own? Send us a message and let’s talk through your space!

They are designed so every inch works harder for YOU.

Swipe to see:
1️⃣ Better proportions – no awkward gaps, no cabinet “Tetris,” just a calm, balanced room.
2️⃣ Layered function – smart storage, lighting, and workflow that make everyday tasks feel easier.
3️⃣ Cohesion – cabinets, counters, hardware, and lighting all speaking the same language.

Planning a remodel and don’t want another basic builder kitchen?

If you’re dreaming about a kitchen that fits YOUR life and style instead of forcing you to work around it, we'd love to talk with you!

We're asking the question - What if the biggest thing standing between you and the home you love... is a wall?

Removing a wall, or even just a portion, is one of the most transformative moves you can make in a remodel. Suddenly, your home has new life and a refreshing atmosphere!

This is where the art of space planning is imperative. Before a single wall comes down, we study how you actually live-how you move through your home, where energy stagnates, where connection is being blocked. Then we reconsider the entire footprint with intention, creating a layout that finally works for you instead of against you.

Here's what we see happen again and again when clients embrace the reimagining process and are open to hidden opportunities within their home:

✦ Natural light multiplies — what was once a dark, closed-off corner becomes part of a luminous whole.
✦ The space feels intentional — not chopped up by builder-grade decisions that no longer serve your lifestyle.
✦ Connection increases — whether it's keeping an eye on the kids, entertaining with ease, or simply feeling more together in your own home.
✦ Square footage works harder — the same footprint, reimagined, can feel twice the size.

The best remodels are more than finishes and fixtures. They start with a thoughtful, strategic reimagining of the space itself.

We do more than hand you a project board and wish you luck. We walk alongside you from the very first conversation, bringing both the creative vision and the technical expertise to transform not just how your home looks — but how it feels. Solution-based, client-centered, and deeply intentional, we are the design partner who sees your home's full potential before the first wall ever comes down.

Your home has more to give. Let us show you what is possible!
