In this powder room of our client’s second home on the coast of North Carolina, bold palm wallpaper brings movement and personality to the space. The expressive pattern is balanced by a simplistic vanity, warm wood flooring, and simple accessories that keep the room feeling clean and composed.

Created for a repeat client and later featured in Southern Home, the result is a small space with a big impact—easy, welcoming, and perfectly suited to coastal living. 🌿

This entry moment layers sculptural form, reflection, and color to create a welcoming first impression. The carved console introduces an artistic focal point, while the round mirror softens the architecture and reflects light moving through the space. Blue accents in the lamp, glass, and artwork bring a sense of continuity that carries throughout the condo.

Located on the 27th floor of PNC Plaza overlooking downtown Raleigh, this home was created for longtime clients of ours. After first working together on their family residence, we were invited back to help shape this next chapter—designing a space that reflects a new stage of life and city living.

Continuing our team introductions, we’re excited to spotlight Sophia Salcedo, one of the thoughtful minds behind the scenes at CCID.

After earning her degree in Interior Design from Indiana University, Sophia relocated to Raleigh and quickly became an integral part of our collaborative studio process. She brings a sharp eye for detail and a strong understanding of how thoughtful design supports everyday living. With strengths in space planning, design research, and visual development, Sophia helps shape ideas into clear, cohesive plans—allowing our clients to fully understand the potential of their homes.

Outside the studio, Sophia enjoys staying active, exploring new places, spending time with family and friends, and unwinding at home with her cats.

Patterned drapery adds a clear sense of color and softness to this space, bringing in blues and greens that feel fresh while still grounded. The fabric introduces movement and visual interest, framing the window without overpowering the room. Just beside it, the glass-front cabinet offers a quieter moment showcasing collected pieces in a way that feels intentional and easy, not overly styled.

These details were part of a larger renovation of a 1980s ranch in Chapel Hill for a growing family, where the goal was to subtly update the home while preserving its approachable character. Through layered finishes and thoughtful selections, the house was refreshed for modern family living without losing its sense of history.

Created as a welcoming place to unwind, this living room blends warm modern forms with an understated European sensibility. A calm palette, tailored furnishings, and intentional spacing highlight the home’s generous windows and architectural details.

Home to a dynamic couple leading a national business, this downtown condo serves as a thoughtful retreat from full schedules—easy, refined, and made to support both everyday life and effortless entertaining.

On days like these, when Raleigh is deep in winter layers, we can’t help but look back at spaces made for warmer moments and slower outdoor living. For this couple, time outside is part of daily life—whether entertaining, unwinding with a view, or welcoming their grown children home for visits.

Set along Pages Creek in Wilmington, this second-floor porch was designed as a true extension of the home—easy, inviting, and perfectly positioned to take in the surrounding landscape. From quiet mornings to lively evenings with family and friends, the space adapts effortlessly.

Natural teak tones, flexible seating, and layered textures create a relaxed resort feel that stays warm and livable year-round—modern, and eclectic.

As we continue highlighting the talent behind the work at CCID, we’re excited to reintroduce a key member of our design team, Interior Designer Katelyn Pruett.

Katelyn is a North Carolina native and holds a B.S. in Interior Design with a minor in Business Administration from East Carolina University. Katelyn brings a thoughtful, detail-driven approach to every project she touches. She has a particular talent for translating ideas into clear, compelling renderings—bridging vision and ex*****on with precision and artistry. Her sophisticated eye helps to create spaces that feel personal, layered, and deeply intentional for our clients.

Beyond the studio, Katelyn channels her creativity through painting and woodworking, and draws inspiration from travel, time outdoors, and being with friends and family. Her curiosity, craftsmanship, and refined perspective are an integral part of what makes our work feel both meaningful and unique.

This primary bath was designed to feel calm, cohesive, and thoughtfully considered. The soft blue wall color establishes a relaxed atmosphere, while classic millwork and layered artwork provide structure and visual interest. Careful attention was given to the transition between the bedroom and bath, ensuring the space feels intentional rather than secondary. Designed for a family settling into a new home, every detail supports daily routines while offering a sense of retreat from a busy professional life.

The result is a well-balanced, functional environment—purposeful, enduring, and grounded in thoughtful design.

Designed as part of a whole-home refresh, this seating nook reflects our clients desire for a lighter, more inviting atmosphere — a retreat thoughtfully designed for a busy medical professional. Soft blues, refined wood silhouettes, and layered fabrics create a sense of calm, while custom window treatments offer a tailored finish that works seamlessly with the view outside.

It's a space that balances traditional elegance with an ease meant for everyday living.
