🤧IT HAS BEGUN...Mountain cedar pollen is back 🤧

Dreaded mountain cedar (technically juniper) trees have started pollenating. The peak of the pollen usually occurs in mid-January and ends around Valentine's Day. Here are some quick facts for you:

- Although the trees are native throughout Texas, there's a dense forest of millions of tons on the tree in the Hill Country.
- The pollen kicks up with winds from cold fronts in the winter. Folks in the Hill Country and the San Antonio/Austin metro areas have it worst.
- It's only the male trees that are the problem. They produce the pollen. Female trees produce bitter juniper berries (which you can use to make your own gin!)
