The firm's most recent focus is on high-end single family homes in the Bay area and the Tahoe area. Our designs are contemporary, with clean lines. We pay close attention to the natural light balance and how it plays off the materials. The management of a project is crucial to its success. We pride ourselves on being open, flexible, and responsive to our clients.

DO YOU NEED A FORMAL DINING ROOM?

If you use it, yes.

If it sits empty most of the year, we’d rather reconsider the space around how you actually live.

A floor plan doesn’t need to follow convention. It needs to work.

Before we start designing, we start by listening.

How do our clients actually live? What do they value? What makes a home work for them, not just today, but over time?

I explore these questions in my new article, “Do You Really Know Your Clients Before You Start Designing?” written for the 21st edition of ’s Small Firms, Great Projects, out now.

For me, understanding the people we’re designing for is where the best decisions begin.

WHAT YOU DON’T SEE

The sightline from one room to the next. Where the lighting lands. The exact point where two materials meet.

The holidays may still feel a few months away. The gatherings start sooner than we think.

We design dining spaces for all of it, long dinners, extra chairs, good conversation, and the people you want around the table.

Good design considers everyone who lives there.

Open circulation, durable materials, places to gather, and, occasionally, the perfect spot for four paws.

Because everyone should feel at home.

The best measure of a finished project? How it feels to live there.

We listen, collaborate, and keep the big picture in view from the first conversation to the final detail.

We’re always grateful when our clients share their experience.

A look at our Martis Camp project featured in .

What stays with us about this home is the relationship between architecture, interiors, and landscape. Each was considered as part of the same experience, allowing the home to feel connected to its surroundings without sacrificing warmth or personality.

A material should be beautiful. It should also work beautifully.

We consider color, texture, light, performance, longevity, and sustainability, always with the people who will live with it in mind.

The goal? Materials that look good, feel good, and last.
