New Project Alert! NYC Edition

Third time’s the charm! This client is back for her THIRD project with Mimi & Hill, and this time we’re taking on her new apartment in Chelsea!

Designed for a female executive, we’re leaning into femininity while keeping things sophisticated, chic, and a little unexpected. Think bold stripes, rich blues, burgundies, sage, soft blushes, playful marbles, and maybe even a dark kitchen. 👀

One of our favorite parts of what we do is getting to work with returning clients. There’s already a level of trust and understanding that allows us to push the boundaries, take a few more risks, and have even more fun with the design.

We can’t wait to bring this one to life! Stay tuned for what’s to come.

Your Guests Get the Front Door. You Get the Mudroom.

Just because it’s the hardworking entrance doesn’t mean it can’t be beautiful! Your mudroom should be just as thoughtfully designed as the rest of your home. Here are a few things we always love to include.

A Place to Sit & Stay a Minute

A built-in bench makes taking shoes on and off a little easier, especially with kids. It’s also the perfect opportunity to incorporate a beautiful cushion, custom millwork, or additional storage.

A Home for All Those Shoes

Because no one wants to walk into a pile of shoes! Dedicated shoe storage keeps the floor clear and everything organized. We especially love ventilated cabinetry that allows shoes to breathe.

A Designated Drop Zone

Keys, mail, sunglasses, and everything else that comes through the door needs a place to land. A beautiful countertop or built-in catchall keeps everyday essentials within reach without taking over the kitchen counter.

Storage, Storage & More Storage

When it comes to mudrooms, we say take the cabinetry all the way up! Floor-to-ceiling storage makes use of every inch, giving you room to tuck away coats, sports equipment, seasonal essentials, and all the things you don’t want on display.

Don’t Be Afraid of a Little Drama

A mudroom is the perfect place to take a design risk. Think rich paint colors, unexpected flooring, statement hardware, or a bold wall treatment. Just because it’s practical doesn’t mean it has to play it safe.

Don’t Forget Your Four-Legged Family Members

Your pets deserve a thoughtfully designed space, too! Built-in feeding stations keep food and water bowls off the main walking path and give your furry family members a designated spot of their own.

How do you make a home say beach house without screaming beach house?

For this year-round home by the beach, we wanted to capture the feeling of coastal living without leaning into the expected nautical aesthetic.

Think shiplap in unexpected places, natural textures, sandy neutrals, and just a hint of blue. Every detail was a subtle nod to the home’s surroundings, without letting its location define the entire design.

The result? A home that feels just as beautiful in January as it does in July.

The rich tones, layered textures, and mix of old and new give this space a warmth that feels especially inviting this time of year. Cozy, collected, and effortlessly sophisticated.

Although we have to admit, we’d happily spend time here in any season.

From grout color and tile layouts to stone edges, slab placement, and the way every material comes together, these decisions can completely change the look and feel of a space.
