Every custom finish begins with a vision. For this powder bath in a beautiful custom home built by Fahsholtz Construction in the Province neighborhood, the homeowners wanted a feature wall that would complement a piece of artwork they had selected for the space, creating a cohesive and intentional design.

This finish was built in four carefully layered applications. The first layer established the movement and subtle sheen, laying the foundation for the finished look. The real artistry came in the third layer, where three different plasters were combined in a single application to create depth, texture, and dimension. A final clear shimmer coat brought everything together, catching the light and adding the perfect finishing touch. It's always rewarding to create a finish that not only stands beautifully on its own but also enhances the entire space.

I'm excited to share these four one-of-a-kind mahjong tables, each thoughtfully refinished to create a beautiful, dedicated space for one of today's most popular games. Inspired by the colors, textures, and patterns found in various mahjong tile sets and mats, every table has its own unique personality while blending artistry with function.

3 of the 4 tables began as vintage pieces and were professionally cleaned, prepped, and refinished using high-quality, professional grade products for a durable, lasting finish. The scallop-edged "Just (Navy &) Peachy" table was custom-built and now has a beautiful fabric-like finish. Lime paint and lime plaster are having a well-deserved moment, and it's easy to see why. Although these natural mineral finishes have been used for centuries, they've recently become a favorite for adding warmth, movement, and timeless character to today's interiors. As a bonus, they're breathable, zero VOC, and naturally resist mold, mildew, and bacteria, helping support healthier indoor spaces.

So what's the difference? Lime paint is brushed on in thin layers to create a soft, matte finish with beautiful color variation, making it ideal for lower traffic areas.
