The construction phase isn’t always pretty. But getting to see it all come together? That never gets old.

Looking back at House of Hass, I’m reminded of how many decisions happen between open walls and a finished home. Layout, lighting, materials—each one helps shape how the space will look and feel to live in.

So much happens before the final photos. Here’s a little of what it took to get there. 🤍

Forget ghosts. We know what real nightmares are made of. 👻

Just a few things that keep interior designers up at night.

The good news? We’ve gotten pretty good at handling the unexpected. The ghosts, however, are on their own.

Happy Halloween from Amy Wellnitz Design! 🎃

With all this gloomy weather, there’s nowhere we’d rather be than curled up right here with a good book and a warm cup of coffee. ☕️

A comfortable chair, soft textures, and a little spot to set your mug are all you need to make a rainy day feel a little cozier.

What’s your favorite way to spend a gloomy fall day? 🍂

Some houses are haunted, others are just poorly planned.👻☕️

At AWD, we find both terrifying.

Happy Halloween! 🎃

Before we talk about finishes, we want to know what your home feels like on a regular Tuesday.

Where do the bags land when everyone gets home? Is there enough room to cook together? Does the living room have comfortable seating for the people who actually use it?

Your answers help us decide what needs to change—and what already works.

A home can be beautiful and still make your day harder than it needs to be. Our job is to think through both, creating spaces that feel natural to live in.

What’s one thing you wish worked better in your home?

Comfortable, collected, and ready for a night in.

Consider this our RSVP.

The runway looks a little different around here. 🪽

Where will you set your coffee?

It’s a small question, but one I think about when designing a room. Every seat should have somewhere to set a drink, good lighting for a few more chapters and enough space to get comfortable.

The side table, the reading lamp, the place to put your feet up—these details help turn a beautiful room into your favorite spot in the house.

Known to light up the room.

A little sparkle, a beautiful first impression and a warm welcome home. Some details are worth looking up for.
