Ad☀️ Finding a hotel that fits us all as a large family with a dog feels like the impossible and we had honestly started to give up hope on a last minute break for our wedding anniversary

I used to style for a well known luxury brand and these are the tips I took away that I can’t help but make the cosiest beds. With autumn fast approaching and the nights becoming cooler I thought I’d share how I make a bed look cosy starting with the girls bedrooms because you technically get two! 🌸

The blank slate. Two very cute beds that I found on Facebook marketplace and painted in Powder Colour by Dulux Heritage to match the room perfectly

Step one:
Add a fitted sheet, I always use fitted especially with children’s beds because they move about so much. If I’d had two matching I’d have preferred that but it’s actually quite hard to get matching single & cot bed sized bedding

Step two:
I use a memory foam pillow and a contrasting pillowcase that is propped upright. This pattern brings in the wallpaper

Step three:
Add a softer pillow almost propped up. This is the pillowcase that matches the bedding set

Step four:
Add your duvet with the duvet cover. Tuck into the bottom of the bed and bring up so it covers the pillow (you’ll see why in the next few slides)

Step five:
Now add your throw. These matching patchwork quilts were mine and my sisters when we were little that my aunty made for us 🥹
Also bring these up over the pillow

Step six:
Fold back both the duvet and throw leaving a small gap between them and the pillows. This will be the gap for your cushions to sit in

Step seven:
I like to add a cushion that adds the colours. In this case it links the pillowcase behind and the wallpaper. The idea is that it’s not to look too matchy matchy but still link the bedding together

Step eight:
Now add your focal cushion. These gorgeous embroidered cushions are made by my friend 🌸16ths Child🌸Personalised embroidery🌸

The finished look creates a cosy layered look that brings in the right amount of colour, print and texture 🌸

Autumn I am soooo ready for you! 🍂🌻🎃

Remember the days when Instagram was full of tiny pumpkins…a little disclaimer but my house will always have them 🤭🎃

After the girls have gone to bed, I turn on all the little lights, make a hot drink and read. I’m currently re-reading the ACOTAR series ready for the new book!

Is there any better outfit that a cosy knit, socks and comfy trousers?

Followed by a crunchy leaf walk

To a pub for a roast dinner!

Here for a pretty autumnal nail art

Then coming home to a cosy fire

And adding all the layers to your bedding!

And I know it’s basic but I absolutely love a pumpkin spiced latte ☕️

With an annual pumpkin picking season

Then we tend to make pretty autumn pumpkin displays because my girls get scared of the faces

Halloween everything from outfits to craft sessions and even ghost toast!

I’ve not had a break since Christmas! This really is a full time job

As a content creator it’s the hardest thing to log off, to actually switch off and come away. I’ll be honest it’s kinda scary

But I really needed to. I had started worrying about the numbers, the algorithm and how each piece of content was performing and it was ruining the creativity behind the content

I’d also found myself doom scrolling videos like cleaning horses hoofs or deep sea diving. Something that were interesting but not productive and I didn’t get a good feeling from them

But the biggest thief is comparison. Not thinking my content was worthy or belonged anymore

So the scary thing happened and I logged off

And we went camping. A bit extreme but it was perfectly timed with a camping trip already planned

But it helped me to disengage, rediscover what I did want to do, connect with the girls and my husband. Step away and take a break

Because underneath it all, I started this because I love creating content. It was never about being a influencer, that was purely accidental

You see I love sharing, I love creating content and I love connecting with you who has similar views and interests. That’s why I began sharing in the first place

But I’ve also realised I need to set some boundaries. social media isn’t a bad place, doom scrolling isn’t necessarily bad. But it needs to be making you feel good and if it isn’t anymore that ok! So if anything is triggering you, not making you feel great then you can change that

So I’m back, creating content I genuinely love, hopeful to not get caught up in the numbers again
