Weave Interiors

Weave Interiors Great interior design is striking, unique, inviting and functional, but most importantly it reflects the people living in the space.

Bare brick, exposed joists, the potential a building site holds is always exciting to me.

When it is your own home though, I also know how daunting it can feel.

The space, and I, ask you to trust the process, because at this point it looks nothing like a home.

Then it opens up.
Walls come down, light floods in and suddenly you can start to see what it can become.

Open-plan living at its best, designed for a family who want to gather in one space.

Then there’s the quieter living room- I have talked about it before- the all important tucked away space.
Separate on purpose, so it is a place to close the door and get away.

Blue runs throughout the downstairs of this home and bespoke carpentry helps tie it together- built in rather than bought off the shelf, so that it all works exactly as this family needs it to.

From skip loads of old wiring and cement bags, to a home this family love to be in.

If you’re taking on a self-build or renovation in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire or Buckinghamshire and want an open-plan space that feels this personal, I’d love to help.

One of the biggest advantages of open-plan living is the feeling of space.

Removing walls allows natural light to travel freely, creating a home that feels larger and calmer, especially in UK homes, where light can be limited.
The real magic isn’t just in removing the walls though.
It’s in how you position the furniture, layer lighting, use materials to reflect light and also in how you create subtle zones without closing the space.

Open plan should feel expansive, but never undefined.

If you are planning building work, or have an open plan space that isn’t working, I’d love to hear from you, you can book a free discovery call to find out how I can help using the link in my bio.

Open plan living isn’t just about knocking walls down.

When it’s designed well, it completely changes how a home feels and functions.

For busy family life, entertaining friends, and creating a sense of calm flow, open-plan layouts can be transformative, but only when they are thoughtfully zoned and layered.

They enhance light, improve flow, encourage connection and make everyday life easier.

If you are planning building work, or have an open plan space that isn’t working, I’d love to hear from you via DMs or through the link in my bio.

Over the next few weeks I am going to be sharing more about open plan spaces and how to make them feel warm, characterful and beautifully considered, rather than vast and overwhelming.

Open-plan doesn’t have to mean open everywhere.

It’s the thing I hear most often from families, that they love the togetherness of a big, connected space, but miss having somewhere to escape to.
A corner that feels like a deep breath at the end of the day.

That’s where the tucked-away spot comes in.

This could be a reading nook behind a half wall or a window seat layered with cushions and a wool throw. Perhaps a snug armchair angled away from the room, with a lamp that pools warm light just for you. It doesn’t need a door, it just needs to feel like yours.

Texture does a lot of the work here: velvet, leather, linen, wool. Think about how they can be layered in and make it feel indulgent.

Swipe through for a few of these little spots from my projects, designed for the moment the kettle’s boiled and the house has finally gone quiet.

Which spot can you see yourself relaxing in?

If you’re planning an open-plan space in Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire or Bedfordshire and want it to hold both the togetherness and the calm, I’d love to help.
