Studio dog, Luna, would like to remind you to get your clay orders in before it gets too cold! Now’s the time to stock up, once temperatures drop, clay manufacturers have to pause shipping to prevent clay from freezing in transit. If you’re planning a large order to keep your studio supplied through the winter, don’t wait until the cold sets in. Luna doesn't want you to run out of clay so place your order now and make sure you have the clay you need for a full season of making!

Well, all I can say is that we had a cosmic shift under our roof over the last couple of days.

Everyone was so unified and excited to finally fire the Kazegama. We had this wonderful team of people sharing the firing, sharing the work, sharing in the excitement of what might come out of the kiln, sharing in the beauty of the firing itself, and then sharing a meal and the cleanup afterward. Thank you, Laurin Jennings, for grinding all those shelves after the firing!

There is something powerful about collaboration. When people come together around a shared purpose, the work becomes more than the task itself. We remember that we belong to one another, that we need one another, and that sometimes healing happens simply by working side by side.

After all we have been through, this experience pulled us closer together.

My friend Weezer Louise Hoover said it best, “It was a big pot of healing being stirred.”

And it truly was.

We’re going to fire her again, and we’ll unload the Kazegama during our Fall Firing Festival on November 14, 2026.

I sure hope you can come celebrate with us. We have so much to be grateful for!
