Our 5.5 quart Modern ‘Cowboy’ Cast Iron Dutch Oven is manufactured with a machined and polished cooking cooking surface with design features created to leverage natural convection principles that cook evenly and efficiently is now available.

Its flat lid with a raised rim is built for the highest end kitchen and heavy-duty outdoor use. Our rugged purpose-built variation of the classic cast iron Dutch oven is rooted in the traditions of American frontiersmen, cowboys, and pioneers.

Engineered for durability, heat efficiency, and versatility in rough conditions this robust frontier practicality also comes with significant performance benefits including:

Smooth Cast Iron: Machined smooth cooking surface that is naturally non-stick, easy to clean with performance that only gets better with time.
Heat Circulation: Our Dutch oven absorbs heat from all sides—typically from a stovetop or oven—and radiates it inward. The lid traps hot air and steam, creating a sealed convection environment where heat circulates naturally around the food.
Even Cooking: The thick walls and lid distribute heat uniformly, reducing hot spots which is especially useful for slow-cooking dishes like stews or breads, where steady, all-around heat is key.
Moisture Retention: The convection-like circulation of steam keeps food moist.
High-Heat Versatility: Cast iron’s ability to hold and radiate heat means it can handle high temperatures (500°F+) amplifying the convection effect in an oven, fire, or on the hottest burner.
The ‘Cowboy’ Dutch oven’s convection benefits shine with low-and-slow recipes. For instance, simmer your chili, baked beans or favorite rib recipe for hours without drying them out, thanks to the sealed heat cycle.

Additionally our team has hand seasoned your skillet to perfection with avocado oil, allowing for immediate cooking action upon arrival. This process creates a non-stick experience enhancing your ease of use and quickly moving your cast iron into your everyday rotation.

Check out the recipe on our website for these award winning Double Fried Cast iron Fries. Some easy prep, good beef tallow, and a little time to let the fries rest leads to some savory and crispy French fries.
